I disagree, getting rid of the extra playable characters and stripping down to a good playable game in Sonic Generations was the best thing SEGA have done in a while. The stages where you played as other characters were always the most tedious in the other Sonic games (fishing with Big, crystal finding with Rouge/Knuckles, etc.) I want to see a continuation of straightforward fun Sonic games with good level design. I guess I can live with other playable characters if the gameplay doesn't suffer, like in S3&K.

Sonic's 8,000 or so friends is part of what ruined the series. Less friends, less novelty ideas (e.g. a Werehog), just good old fashioned Sonicing where the focus is on running and jumping like crazy.
Good level design, real physics, and controls that aren't too floaty and tons tighter.
Oh, and get rid of all "Sonics Shitty Friends"
I'm hoping for an HD remake of Shadow the Hedgehog.
Oh my god. I swear, Sonic Unleashed is to Trekkies as Orbi is to MrSega.
I was simply pointing out that stripping down to just Sonic was done first in Unleashed, not Generations. Would you be happier if I said Sonic Colors instead?
Honestly aside from some of the Werehog stages I don't see what's so bad about Unleashed. And honestly if you could deal with Knuckles stages in the Adventure games, there's no reason to complain about the Werehog stages in Unleashed.
No, shitty games are what ruined the series.
I actually wouldn't mind this, if it were a budget release. SthH has some good levels in it.
I'm struggling to like the 360 version of Unleashed, yet I enjoyed the PS2 a ton (as Sonic). Werehog blows on both systems tho.
Disagree, still had an annoying unneeded character (chip), annoying cutscenes, and a stupid story. It was a step in the right direction, but Generations nailed it. Generations still had cutscenes but they were kept to a minimum, and were actually entertaining since they were bordering on self-parody.
I didn't really like Generations that much. It's like the game equivalent of a mix tape, when I already have all the albums. Also the duality of "Classic Sonic" and "Modern Sonic" felt very forced.
