Tomee Retro Genesis Controller!

This is pretty much the controller you buy when yours breaks. It seems to be the only current after market controller and its sold in almost every retro store. I got this because I dont have a 6 button, couldnt find one and didnt wanna go on ebay but It gives me a headache.

It runs fine on the sega genesis 3 and probably the 2, but with the model 1 genesis it has issues with the controller port. It sometimes stops working completely until you mess with it or take it out of the port completely and put it back in. If you put it in too hard it screws up, if you dont put it in enough it wont register, if you get it just right, it works for like 30 min and then cuts off.

I have to plug it in my power plug turbo adapter to get it working but the power plug disables the xyz buttons. Anyone have this controller? Do you have similar issues?

I don't remember if it's the same controller or not, but I got one that looked like that from a site claiming it was an original Sega controller. It annoyed the hell out of me since it felt much, much cheaper (which I could live with) but you also had to press the A button a lot harder to make it register than any of the other buttons, which I could not live with. I ended up giving it to a friend who bought a loose console, he likes it just fine.

I just bought a 6-button original controller off e-bay for $20. Was in great shape and works perfectly.

I bought one of those on amazon for like $5 because, like GohanX said, they claimed it was an original Sega controller.

I hated it so much. It felt like it was going to break in my hands and the A button had the same problem as GohanX's.

I ended up getting rid of it after I found a perfect Sega brand 6-button controller at a thrift store for $2.

This looks like a controller I bought from a flea market made by I don't remember who (it's not Tomee), and it is the absolute cheapest controller I have ever used. The plastic feels terrible, the buttons feel weird, the D-pad is mushy, the MODE button is stiff as hell, and the cord is worthless crap. Not only does it not stay in place, it also frayed at 2 spots, and I hardly use the damn thing. It's cheap shit.

I thought this was wireless based on the image and was pretty excited.

Now I see it's just another knock off corded controller. Do people actually have a hard time finding controllers? It's like the one thing I have an abundance of.

There is no lack of original Sega Genesis controllers. It's easier to find an original than a knock-off... and cheaper!

E-bay prices disagree. The $20 original 6-button i found was at the LOW end. Otherwise, most ask around $35'ish.

It's easy to find 3 buttons, but it's kinda hard to find the original non-Majesco 6 buttons in good shape. I really wish I had picked up some from Sega-Parts.com back in the day.

Of course, there's nothing wrong with the 6 button pad I have now. I got it for christmas with the Genesis 2 sonic 2 bundle the Christmas it came out whenever that was, and I using it last night. Still works great.

I was lucky enough to get two original 6-button controllers from my friend in exchange for a DS game a while back. Also, the local retro game store where I live has tons of these cheap controllers, although they also have some original Sega controllers, though they're more expensive.
