Nintendo's Efforts To Explain The Wii U Just Took A Turn For The Absurd

The WiiU shouldn't be compared to the Dreamcast anyways. The Dreamcast shattered launch records in the US :P

I was one and done for the Virtual Boy. My eyes could never adjust to it. I remember trying a demo unit, looking into the periscope, trying to use the odd controller, pulling my head out in frustration and grimacing from the visuals hurting my eyes.

The Gamecube was more successful than the Saturn worldwide. It was more successful in the US and Europe as well as being almost on par with the Saturn's performance in Japan. It was also more successful than the Dreamcast.

Oh yeah, I regret missing the Dreamcast at launch. All I had was an N64, then after playing a friend's PSX, I eventually got a PSone. Got the cool matching Sony screen for it too. Still have it, but the hinge broke.

I would've easily traded the N64 for the Dreamcast. Saturn too, but the Saturn had zero support in my area. No joke.

Both are good! I like having GameCube compatibility on my Wii, but I would really like to use the Game Boy Player. Good thing GameCubes are dirt cheap!

I'm not knocking the Saturn by any means. I just don't get trying to put down the Gamecube.

They're both Solid. But the Gamecube was more successful obviously. Just about everyone knows what a Gamecube is. Most people you mention the Saturn to go "Oh was that that thing that played CDs on the Genesis?"

That's the primary reason I keep my gamecube plugged in - for GBP support. I play gamecube games on my Wii, and my Gamecube is a dedicated GBA machine now.

I adore the GBP. One of the best accessories ever made, IMO.

Yup, the Gameboy Advance Player is the reason I bought a Gamecube and why I never bought a Wii actually. Silly little thing can't be replaced even with emulation.

It would really breathe new life into my humble Game Boy collection. The Game Boy Player is a great way to share Game Boy games on YouTube for example. It's nice to play on a bigger, brighter screen too!

For regular GB games, I tend to go for the Super Gameboy, as their particular enhancements don't transfer over to the Gameboy Player. However, for Gameboy Color or GBA games, it's obviously GBP all the way. If you do get a GBP, spring for the Hori controller - it really completes the experience.

That's a good suggestion on the Super Game Boy. I omitted that.

I like nearly everything that Hori puts out. Did Hori release an upgraded GameCube controller? I know their N64 controller is sought after.
