Yeah, lie about your product Nintendo. History is repeating itself, your only one step closer from launching a newer designed Gamepad with built in apps. Similar to when Atari had to re-release 5200 controllers because the original ones was so damn faulty.

Japanese sales tracker Media Create just released the Japanese console hardware sales numbers for last week. And unfortunately, the Wii U isn’t looking any better in Nintendo’s homeland.
The Wii U sold 9,500 units last week and came in at 6th place, behind all other consoles with the exception for the Xbox 360 and the original Wii.
Nintendo’s 3DS LL (XL in the US) did quite well, finishing at the number 1 spot with almost 50,000 units sold. What’s surprising is that the Wii U was outsold by the PSP and the Vita — two Sony products that have never really sold well. Here’s the full sales chart:

A lot of people fail to get the original intention of that old Atari ad. It was a direct counter to Coleco's claims of Atari compatibility and pointing out that Coleco's module would only play old Atari 2600 games, and not 5200 games. With the market so young that that time, it was hard enough to differentiate their new system in general over the 2600 without that complication. (of course, Atari/Warner screwed up a number of other things in general that made that marketing more of a mess)Quote:

Nintendo has the cash reserves to nail down a price cut and reimburse retail stores for it. They need to do that and also shit all over the platform with solid software. Mario, Zelda, Smash Bros. It also wouldn't hurt them to lock the market on 2K sports games, and get the WWE franchise. It would suck that the sports games won't see huge graphical leaps for 3-4 years, but money talks and it's all an extra reason to pick up a Wii U. Management is on the chopping block. They are probably going to flip a bitch with the Wii U in the next 6-12 months and probably pull off the secondary-console buy for either Xbox or PS4 buyers in the lead up to it's 3rd Christmas.
Imagine this though: Getting Xbox Durango, built in 4G/LTE, $0 or $99 with a term from mobile carriers who can brand their own apps or advertising on the dashboard? Microsoft would totally bend Sony right over and fuck their brains out this Christmas if they didn't try to do the same thing. Let's hope they step in that direction.
