I have an Xeye that seems to work just fine except the video output is completely messed up. You can't make out anything on the screen. It's just a bunch of colors and sprites. The genesis and sega cd parts play games fine as far as I can tell. At least I can hear them all boot up. Any ideas? I have several genesis model 2's as parts systems so if I need to replace a part I'm sure I have them.
What kind of video encoder does the X'Eye have? Maybe take a logic probe to the pins of the encoder and see what's going on. I've had to replace the CXA1145 in a Model 1 Genesis before (though it might have died due to the owner's previous mods).
Seconded Guntz's suggestion. If you need an encoder I have spares for most everything genesis related.

I have just replaced the encoder. Still the same symptoms.

Ive tried both outputs and i have caps on order. I will try to get a pic posted tomorrow after work. Ive never seen an issue like this in any genesis.
Can you tell if the graphic glitches are digital? Or are they like analog noise? If the former, there's a possibility the VRAM is bad. I don't know the specifics of the X'Eye, but it should have at least one RAM chip for video data on the Genesis side of the combo system. I guess just look for a RAM chip with most of it's traces connected to the VDP.
