I was just about to say the font faces used are very similar to Sonic 2 and 3.
Sonic 2 used a font called "Gaslight"
Sonic 3 used a font called "Andes"

If anything, this reminded me of my trip to the Dominican Republic a month ago. I miss the beaches, the women and the copious amounts of Presidente beer. :D I even have a funny Genesis anecdote from my first-ever trip to DR back in '96 that I've told several times here on Sega-16.
