Some of those pics were funny like the old guy kicking her in the butt lol.
Ukraine is a scary place, now I think it is even scarier. Protestors in any normal anti-government position should come in armor and hope for the best. Not topless. This is the place I can't ship to easily from Romania because everything gets confiscated at the border.
This was in France, not the Ukraine.
#7 was probably the funniest. Look where he's looking while she's screaming in his face...
I put a jihad on clothes, unless you're ugly.
My thoughts? All protests should be topless.
All arguments should be naked. Problem solved.
Ugly lesbians with small tits is how I'd classify 99% of what I saw.
What makes them lesbians? Since they're "ugly with small tits", that makes them lesbians? Or the fact that they're angry? Not sure how that would come into play.
Also, they're not supermodels, but they weren't particularly ugly either. Most women in the real world don't look like supermodels or centerfolds.
Heh; to each his own, my man...
Just using that as an example of cultural training of what women are "supposed" to look like. Typically, I do not find supermodels or models in general to be especially attractive. Not my type either.
I'm sure something was going on in those pictures, however, I was distracted by lots of boobs.
This is the major flaw in topless protests. Men won't get past the "topless" part. We'll stare at the boobs and have no idea what the protest is for (or likely even care).
The only effective topless protest topic would be if these women were protesting that men never stare at naked boobs, in which case a topless protest would work famously...
What is this protest about anyway? Are these just run of the mill topless feminazis or are they trying to make me look more closely at the extremely corrupt Ukrainian government?
Muslim religion wants women to hide behind a billion layers of clothing, these women are all like "I GOT TITS DEAL WITH IT"
Personally i love titties, enough to actually understand why they are doing this anyway.
It's a weird world we live in, America is all like "OMG TITS I CAN'T DEAL WITH THIS!" and the Arab world is all like "OMG A NAKED WOMAN OH MY SOUL IS TARNISHED!"
While I'm all like "Titties are good, Mmmmkay"
Ah that's right. I just forgot that they were against Islam with all of the F-Bombs and boobs. It is hard to explain why I'm looking at something like that. ;)
While they are being all topless and offensive are they bothering to suggest what to replace Islam with in relevant countries. I'd like to see those suggestions.
Religion. Do we really need it? I wonder what the world would be like if there were no religions.
Same here.
John Lennon wondered as well:) Religion itself shouldn't be the problem. Regardless of religion, the idea of religion, to me, should be about dealing with the difficulties of life and hoping for an afterlife. It should be about the positive things in life. Unfortunately, in practice, most religions have been perverted into a tool for political influence and subjugation. We see that in the middle east now, but again, this was true in Europe with Christianity for centuries. This is also done on smaller scale with Native Americans; the shamans likely used their "mystical" status to wield influence. Being truly spiritual to me means leaving behind all of the petty, base urges that we have, but religion and spirituality don't seem to follow hand in hand.
Being in the bay area, I'm fairly sensitive to stereotyping of gays. I'm aware of the stereotypes, and yes, there are people who fit the stereotype. However, your comments lead me to believe that you think these women are lesbians because they are ugly. The stereotype of lesbians is typically women with very short hair and somewhat masculine demeanor, dress and build. The women in these pictures didn't fit that stereotype. They were just angry, and not pretty in the popular view of pretty. The way you use the term "lesbian" seems to be meant to be an insult, much like one would call someone a "fag" when we were kids (or when I was a kid anyway).
If there were any lesbian gamers on this site, I have a feeling they would take offense to your use of the term. I'm not overly PC, and not a crusader by any means, but I stopped using this type of pejorative language some time ago as it is easy to misconstrue. It might be fine in private context with friends who get what you're saying, but on a public board, it can seem offensive.
IMO these woman are brave, brave enough to stand up and actually make a stand against oppression.
Which is certainly a lot braver then going online and calling them lesbians just to be insulting for no reason.
But I guess that's the way the world works right? someone says something.. and the other tries to cut them down, simply.. because.
Person 1 : All these mass murders in Africa are bad.
Person 2 : I disagree because you wear the wrong color socks, therefor you are an idiot.
Person : That doesn't even make sense!
Person 2 : aaaaaaaaaaand we've successfully distanced ourselves from a tough subject, I like my world simple and my eyes closed!
Society likes to pretend they are false but stereotypes exist for a reason. I know it is difficult for a politically correct society to come to grips with though.
There were quite the number of manly women in those pictures. Not homely women. Not women with short hair. Manly women. Just as if you saw a picture with a great deal of effeminate men doing whatever, you'd come to certain conclusions and you'd probably be correct. Society tries to pretend as if things aren't as they seem.
So they can't be called lesbians now? Apparently society has found a new term?
You boys are aware that lesbianism is quite big in the feminist community, yes?
If I didn't say that correct, both beliefs (or whatever you term it as) generally are associated with each other.
Matter of opinion I suppose. I didn't think the women looked manly, just angry. Pointless to argue this, as it's perception.
No, I'm not saying you can't call lesbians lesbians. I'm saying calling women lesbians because they appear angry or manly or whatever can be deemed as offensive. If these were women at a gay pride rally and you called them lesbians, then that's using the term as identifying. If you see a bunch of ugly or manly women and call them lesbians, that's pejorative.
Even if there are people who fit a stereotype, it doesn't mean you should stereotype people. I understand gay stereotypes exist, but if I saw a picture of effeminate men, I'm not going to necessarily assume they are homosexuals or stereotype them that way.
Perhaps, but seems like another generalization/stereotype.
Look, I don't want to start a big argument. The use of the term lesbian as you used it seemed to have a negative connotation and was stereotyping. I don't know you, so I'm not accusing you of anything. It's just how it appeared to me. Perhaps others feel differently. Just something I thought I'd point out.
There's only an argument if you'd like there to be one.
As I said, stereotypes exist for a reason and more often than not society pretends there isn't any merit to them. You and I both know the truth.
No, I'm not here to argue. I stated stereotypes have their basis. The flip side of that though is that it is easy to start judging people based on stereotypes, or viewing the world through stereotypes. I feel it's better to err on the side of caution and not assume.
I've met people who I was sure were gay, who ended up not being so. Even though stereotypes exist for a reason, it is a human weakness to use them as "guides" to how we see people. We shouldn't judge people based on stereotypes, whether they are valid or not, IMHO.
Religion is the biggest lie since humanity came to be, a crutch for the weak of mind and a tool for the oppressors to use on these weaker people.
And the oppressors are hoarding the weak together to use as an army against those strong enough to oppose their oppressive fables.
I mean, the idea of god and heaven is a nice one, oh we were created for a reason, and when our time on this SHITHOLE is up we will be rewarded with peace.
But.. like always humanity uses this FEAR to oppress his fellow man. (and woman)
Do I believe in God? no, not in the sense of blindly following a book (I'm not even gonna say old book, because really its not that old)
I hope that there's a deeper reason to be here, because fuck.. organized religion/power hungry tyrants/weakminded people really made this world into a hell.
Hell, lets talk about hell! do what *I* want or God (who loves you so very much) will cast you into hell.
its okay, kill the other side, OUR GOD will forgive you.
The same god who apparently made this entire world has a preference, and fortunately its for OUR SIDE. (usable on which ever side you are on)
And I'm not even angry as I type this, because if you look at this world and the countless people on it, all with their own personal agenda,
screwing eachother over on a daily basis, be it cheating on their partner or going online and choosing an opposing side simply for the sake of debating,
or going on forums and starting fights because daddy doesn't love you, all to get rid of that angst, that fear to be alive.
Am I afraid to be alive? No, I'm just tired of being surrounded by such easily impressionable people.
And for that reason I hope that there's a heaven, a personal heaven where I'm all alone, far away from the lies and oppression.
Yes, I used the word oppression a lot, which seems to be what everything is about.
Boss yells at man, man yells at woman, woman hits kid, kid kicks dog, dog bites cat, cat tortures mouse, mouse.. well the mouse is fucked.
AND EVEN THAT CAN BE CHANGED INTO A DEBATE, WHY DID YOU NAME THE MAN BEFORE THE WOMAN? LOOK I FOUND A REASON TO DEBATE WITH YOU!
*picard facepalm*
I don't blindly follow a book, and I am against those who think that a system of rules is the "answer" to life. Take that as you want.
There needs to be more coverage in the news of such less coverage.
If lesbian is an offensive term, then what are we supposed to use?
