I do a Sega search on my local craigslist and I came across one. These are the goodies that they have does anybody know how these things work so I can be prepared when I go?

It is not as difficult as you may think:
Firstly, find the largest sledge-hammer you have available to you.
Secondly, upon arriving to the estate sale address, demand monetary compensation for your time and effort.
Lastly, begin to decimate Nintendo Virtual Boy in a civil and thorough manner.
Pretty easy really.
Not sure how it works on your side of the world, but over here it's pretty straightforward.
You have to put a certain amount of cash down as your deposit. This is so they know you're legit and not just fucking around wasting their time.
And then you bid. That's it. Highest bidder wins. If you happen to win the sale/auction, your deposit then goes towards your purchase. If not, you claim it back.
Oh man, if I were in Tennessee, I'd pick up that boxed Game Boy now-ish. I really like the Saturn too, even though I have two! Can't read the game boxes.
Some estate sales work auction style, some are more like a larger scale garage sale. I picked up one of my favorite arcade machines that I own from an estate sale, since no one knew what it was. Paid $200 I think.
Where I live, they're mostly just garage/yard sales where the owner of the stuff in question is (usually) deceased, and someone else is selling it for them (a family member or a professional get-this-stuff-outta-here person).
If there are any resellers in your neck of the woods, they're likely to be all over that sale, BTW. There are a couple super-aggressive resellers in my area, and they pretty much swarm anything on Craigslist that openly mentions console gaming (especially Nintendo and big-money systems like the Vectrex), though you can still get OK deals for vintage computers.
Link?
Lots of estate sales are run by companies, who specialize in them these days , that they literally sell tickets. I am a reseller myself and I usually avoid them around here because the estate sales folks are even greedier than I am.
Most estate sales I've been to are just like garage sales but everything in the house is for sale. They are usually ran by a company that will have an idea of what most desireable items are worth. Expect to pay more for this than if it were a homeowner having a sale. Now if you find stuff that you dont think is going to sell go back second day in the evening and you can cut some awesome deals. I've never had to pay to get into one before. But there's usually a line waiting to get in.
I go to estate sales often, as I also collect old electric fans. Pretty much every estate sale that I've been to is ran out of the pocket of the next-of-kin, name your price, dirt cheap stuff. They're essentially yard sales, only good. If it's going to be an auction, it'll say auction in the description. Otherwise, it's yard sale format.
Since that pic is right there in everyone's face with a bunch of rare old gaming stuff, better believe it's gonna go FAST. Be the first one to get there, or forget about it. Estate sales are vicious, people scramble for the good stuff and get greedy. Lots of flea marketers, etc, get their merch from these sales.
Based on my experience the boxed one on the top looks like Bug Too, the one underneath it is maybe Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. If there is a loose VF2 it's an indication that someone got the 3 pack with the system so it probably has Daytona USA and Virtua Cop as well. Just my 2c.
As for estate sales, most of them near me (in the US) are like garage sales, and this looks like one as well. Just get there early with cash and hand and don't try to rip them off. To be honest, I'd contact them in advance and ask if they're willing to sell you some of the gaming stuff.
Am I missing something? I'm not seeing any video game stuff in any of those pictures.
There are a lot more photos here: http://pattersonestatesales.com/sales.html
Ok I see it now, that picture isn't in the link you posted Da_Shocker. I can't tell for sure what hte bottom three are either.
I've been to some estate sales but never seen anything gaming related before. Usually I only end up buying books at those.
I dropped by an Estate Sale once. I saw an average looking lamp priced at $200, then headed back out the door.
OMG. I went to this this morning. lol. Got a few things. Op were you the guy that got the game boy?
I only got 4 games. I think the guy that got the gameboy got all of the best shit.
So what did the titles for the Saturn wind up being?
32 dollars or so. I have always wanted a Model 1 Saturn with those controllers. It also came with some common games though I do have VF2 already.
[QUOTE=TurboRotary;572091]I just picked up UMK3 for the Saturn and 3 VB games. I don't even remember what the names are. One was an import. They were some Hudson Soft games. I picked them up so I'd have a reason to dig out the VB.[/QUOTE
I have UMK3 and damn you probably got some good VB games too.
