That looks rougher than the Model 1 that me and a friend were trying to fix a few years back. The Model 1 is not as amazing as you think it is, and I really don't understand the hype. I keep mine only as a backup, and that's it.
Don't even bother, as that's way too much for even a dead system.
I've got 2 official ones both boxed, one i use the other is still factory sealed(you don't wanna know how much i had to pay for them!!)Quote:

Bit cheaper here(this is where i got mine from) I believe he's out of stock atm!
Yeah, that'd definitely be the one to have. Price is a bit steep (don't forget the $12 shipping as well), however I've never seen one for sale before. If you are willing to spend that much, go for it. If the price makes you hesitant, it'd probably be best to wait for a better deal somewhere.
i bought the cheap one from racketboy, and they work perfect...
um, the VGA boxes do nothing at all.. it's really just a cable..
the dreamcast outputs VGA natively (480p)....
There is NO artifacts.. The only thing the boxes have, both SEGA and 3rd party, is just filter capacitors, that's about it...
I am pro-3rd party on this (and im usually pro 1st party)...
Here's pics.. the bluring in the LCD pictures is my camera, the ISO was too low at the time..

(any wavy lines you see in those pictures is a screen-door effect from the camera vs the shadowmask and pixels of the LCD..) there is ABSOLUTELY NO interference or anything...
I have 3 different VGA boxes (at least). All of them are 3rd party. The first one lasted awhile but then it became quite unreliable, especially with the sound. The second one barely worked at all since it was so cheaply made. The 3rd one, which I am currently using, works fine but like the others seems to be made of crappy components. They are all different brands, and I don't even know what this brand is. It's just black.
Here's a picture of Toy Commander running in 480p 16:9 on my HDTV.

Well, I don't like the Dreamcast much, so it may be a while before I upgrade to VGA.
