The game looks surprisingly amusing, but if they want to stay true to the spirit of the AVGN, they should make it the shittiest game possible with the worst controls ever:)

I won't be playing this unless they port it over to PS3 for $5 as I don't have a current Nintendo system and am unlikely to buy one in the near or distant future...

I think the idea is "make a good game that people will want to play make as much money as possible".

There is some irony that, after basically forcing the Angry Video Game Nerd to change his name from the Angry Nintendo Nerd, his game is going to Nintendo consoles only.

As far as making money, it would make sense for them to put this on PSN and XBLA. Putting it on 3DS makes sense, but the Wii U? Not so much...

That is a good point, something I didn't notice. Why only release this on nintendo hardware? Was it on purpose or was nintendo the only company that was okay with it? Exclusivity is lame, unless the game is made by the company that makes the hardware in that case it makes perfect sense to only release it for that system.

It seems that it cost more money to get it on Xbox 360 or PS3 than the Wii U. The Road Redemption game that has a Kickstarter announced for PC, Mac & Linux. Then later announced for Wii U. Then today for Xbox. Because they are coming close to their goal. And when it exceeds that goal, maybe Ps3.

Nintendo is apparently making is crazy easy to be on the Wii U due to the lack of recent games and poor sales. So that makes Wii U the obvious choice. It will also be on Steam, which is where it was announced and GreenLighted.

So if it sells well on those 2 ports. Expect an Xbox & Ps3 port in the near future for sure.

Well, good for nintendo for pushing good homebrew.

...I won't lie, It looks kinds bland, gameplay wise. Kinda neat to spot some of the homages (those sphere dome things from Bombman's stage in Mega Man 1 and those faces that resemble the Air Tikis in Mega Man 2), but i fear it's just gonna be another bland faux-retro platformer too focused on paying tribute to other games, and having AVGN as a playable character.
