I agree with you 100% on Kinect, I absolutely despise that POS.
Gears 3 was a great game. Cliffy B went all out to make sure that it had polish.
Halo 4 was the best Halo since Halo Combat Evolved IMHO. Check out Ryan Mcaffrey's 9.8 IGN review. Link-->http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/11/01/halo-4-review
MrSega has forsaken Sega. He believes the 360's lack of Sega's almighty Yakuza & Valkyria Chronicles games merit the notion that flawlessness is still possible and more likely in regard to a platform focused on niche Shmups.
Donations for his funeral expenses will be accepted as soon as he realizes his grievous error and kills himself.

And... what have the bulk of Nintendo and Sony releases been?
Other than kinect that is... since the move never got the steam the kinect did. MS bet on it, it went over pretty big, and they continue to support it. Had it sold like crap it would have eventually faded away.
I don't mind the kinect, I think it has good possibilities... the only thing I don't like is how it is used. It seems as if it's "all kinect or no kinect" for 90% of use. It makes a very interesting supplemental controller for lots of games. Voice chat for squad commands, motion controls for certain things. It's just an idea that has a lot of potential when used correctly.
But just like the wiimote, the move, and the wii u gamepad it falls woefully short of the traditional controller for the majority of game control needs. If it's included with the new xbox by default, I can only hope the actual use of it will mature beyond what was seen on the 360.
But other than that. Between the PS4 and the new xbox (and infinity isn't a horrible name, but certainly not good.... what do they call the next one? the infinity 2?), I'm waiting to see what they actually do with them and what games are running on an actual full production piece of hardware. Then I'll see which I want to buy first, or if I will be holding off for awhile.
I disagree. The 360 started out with some great exclusives, but then Microsoft went Kinect apeshit and forgot about everyone else. The Ps3 has had some incredible exclusives, and the value of Playstation Plus just kills Xbox Live. Hopefully, MS will remember that gamers and not soccer moms want to play their console, and they'll actively pursue real exclusives again.
Sony's Move destroys Kinect simply because it can be used for light gun games. Even aside from the fact that titles like Resident Evil control much better with it, you can actually play light gun games on an HDTV with Move, and there's a very good library of titles to play. Kinect has been horrible since day one.
If this new machine does indeed do "always-online" for it's games (even if it's for just some and not all of them), then they can shove it.
There is no reason the kinect could not be used in the same way. It can track the gun position and register the button press as a standard controller. Hell, if it's done well enough it could register the trigger pull and you could use any prop gun (or even your hands) for a "lightgun".
That no one has done it doesn't mean they can't. That's what I mean by the use of it being immature. It's a technology with a LOT of potential... it's just the idiotic/improper use of it at the moment that kills it. Silly dance and kids games are a fine use of it for that market, but there's a lot that could be done with it in a "hardcore" game that they don't... because they generally shove it down your throat as either it's all through Kinect, or none of it is... it's almost never used to enrich the controller experience, only replace it.
If it's offered as a "choice" developers can use, which seems to be the way it's going, then it's no different than now.
How many games have huge chunks of content that are unavailable right now if you don't have an internet connection available?
Not even counting the MP parts, but even the single player many companies have already instituted their own "always on" features into games outside of MS's control.
If you don't pay, or at least sign up, you don't get to play all/part of the game. That is the reality NOW, not with the next consoles.
I feel like Murtaughing but I really don't want to sound cliché

Quote: "“It’s true that we only have extremely limited information about Microsoft’s next console, and there are still questions about Sony ‘s PS4, but a narrative is starting to emerge,” Forbes contributor Paul Tassi recently wrote. ”Sony is going to have a laserlike focus on games this time around, while Microsoft wants to create a device that everyone, gamers and non-gamers alike, will want to have in their living rooms.”
Microsoft has made home entertainment a huge focus for the Xbox 360 in recent years, and the next-generation Xbox is shaping up to carry that mission forward. Recent rumors suggest that the new Xbox will even feature deep set-top box integration to completely take over the television watching experience."
If true it sounds to me like Microsoft is planning to continue their focus on the casual games players and I wonder what that will mean for platform exclusives focused at the dedicated gamers?
