I have heard alot of great things about this game. I seen some Mother 3 screenshot in an older EGM and was hoping it was coming to the U.S. but I have heard nothing else on it. Does anyone have any info? (Oh yea, forgot to mention it was on the GBA.)

The game didn't really hold my interest, and I don't believe I should have to finish a game to have some sort of opinion on it. . .under that logic, I should be forced to finish some random $10 FPS game before judging it, despite having observed crappy controlls, gamebreaking bugs and outright boring level design within 10 minutes (a bit different, but you get the point).

I may be overtly harsh or critical, but it's really really hard not to be when the words that so many use to describe ANY big name title end up being a far cry from the impression that I myself get. I'm this way with lots of titles; be it Sonic Adventure 2, SPRAYLO 2, Super Castlevania IV, and various others. Final Fantasy has the unlucky fate of striking a particular chord in me.
Being excited for Blue-Dragon won't save a bigtime square fan from being one, as you admit that members of the old Chrono Trigger team are involved (I'm personaly hopefull that Sakaguchi can recreate something that Nomura ruined). Just because it ain't square-enix doesn't mean that some people somewhere aren't hoping for some of the Pre-Nomura magic. But it is good to know that you enjoy stuff outside of the square-enix catelouge.
And to answer your question on Mother 3;
Nintendo hasn't said anything about this (or the Mother 1&2 pack that was released earlier for the JP-GBA). Speculation suggests that they are skipping it yet again. They did however release 'Magical Starsign' for the DS (which was developed by the same team), but hope for Mother 3 has gotten bad enough to where a fan-translation was released already.

I am sorry that I kinda of jumped at your jugular after reading your post. (I actually read part of the link you posted and thought it was kinda funny.) I think it is a little wierd that your friend compared KHII to FFVII when they are very different games. I have to say FFVII is overrated but it still holds a place in my heart, and nothing will change that.
I also play all types of games not just RPG's (Crap I just thought of a game that is just as awesome as FFVII and you might be able to apreciate if you like Bioware, KOTOR I & II) Anyways I have been playing alot of Madden 07 (just finished the season 15-1 and won the super bowl with the Panthers) I have also been playing Gears of War (can't seem to beat it on insane) I play my Genesis off and on with Gunstar Heroes and Sonic 2. I also play SSBM on gamecube, oh and RE4 as well.
I am sorry about the Halo remark it was a joke (I have played and have beaten both, can't say I am going to waste $100 on the legendary edition though, some guy that works at EB keeps trying to get me to buy it.) I just do not see why people think it is the greatest thing on earth. I think Halo 1 was alot better than Halo 2. The Halo 2 ending kind of made me angry but I guess Bungie wants me to but Halo 3. I think Half-Life 2 was superior to Halo 2 in every way.
I remeber going to Halo parties before Halo 2 came out, and everybody thought I sucked. Well I did not have an Xbox at the time but they invited me anyway (I they did this just for target practice though.) I have to say my skill have vastly improve though.

And that is one of the gameīs strongest points in the eyes of many fans. The old-fashioned character-class-system was disposed of, and instead a system that gives you more liberty in defining your character-skills was introduced. Part VIII continued that style and thatīs what I love those two games for.:pQuote:

Yeah that's simply not true. It does have balance issues with the characters (which anyone who's fully beaten the game would know about), but that's pretty common in RPGs, especially old school ones. You can still beat the game easily with any set of characters and personally I love that feature because I would hate it if my fav characters were useless.
Anyway, my fav RPG would be either Fallout 2 or Baldur's Gate 2. Great depth and variety for their time, and though I'm sure they've been topped in those categories by newer games I just don't have the time to play big RPG's anymore.
It was true actually. You simply didn't need to choose characters because practically the only difference between them was their limit breaks. It took practically all of the challenge out of the game and all of the technical interest out of the characters.

You donīt have as many materia slots as you want early in the game, and the basic stats and weapon strength vary much. You still have to decide cleverly whom to choose.
Yes, you have to play around with the materia. The characters are what I was saying got lost.
