Current gen at least. I cant believe the arrogance of microsoft and publishers. I hate the direction this industry has been headed to and its sad what my beloved hobby is turning in to. Im holding out hope that the ps4 will not be as anti consumer as this new crapbox is. I dont have high hopes though.
All this does is make me miss the 16-32 bit generation
Make sure to sell your entire collection here and also realize that this new console war gene hasn't even started so don't get upset right away.

Now let the console die, and give way to its predecessor the arcade machine.
If we repeat history we can find ourselves back with consoles worth a damn.
Because there is no arcade, there is no reason to stay innovative.
I believe this has much to do with the state of the gaming industry.
It's that one thing that's missing. Am I on the correct path?.....
My gaming interest has waned in recent years, particularly for modern-style games. The new wave of consoles holds no interest for me. Since I game very little on my PS3, there's enough gaming there to hold me over indefinitely whenever I have a hankering for 3d gaming (which isn't often). Other than that, I'll likely just stick with Kega Fusion for the occasional good, old fashioned, 2d fun:)
As soon as the 16 bit generation was done I was pretty much finished with new / current generation stuff.

I'm with you. For me, I think it started when online software updates started to become the norm.
My newest console is the game cube, though I hardly play it.
The newest consoles I actually play are neo geo CD and sega Saturn.
For me it was when consoles got too powerful. Which was a looong time ago.Quote:
