Game over for used games???

Apparently Microsoft will charge you close to the full retail price to play a used Xbox One game. You have to pay the licensing fee and if the game is third party, the third party gets a cut as well. When you sell your used game on Craig's list or ebay and put it in your Xbox One, you will be charged a lot of money. This is going to be disastrous to say the least. Hopefully Microsoft will be smart and change the way this is done.

the wii U isnt going this route
and sony would be fools to do the same
microsoft seems determinated to alianate as much gamers as possible this time around

Thesis the main reason I'm not buying Xbox one.

This is gonna be awesome, all those COD kids won't be able to sell their 2nd hand games anymore, so they'll go for a console that does allow it.
(because you might as well buy it new and unused if the price is similar)

This is just a prelude to the next machines after the ones that are coming up; I'm betting the PS5/XBTWO/Wii3 will be digital-only.

There's no chance of used games with digital-only, none.

I think its too early to tell how Microsoft will implement their used games policy. We also need to consider that 3rd Party publishers are almost certainly likely the blame.

Plus, I didn't hear Sony explain what theirs would be. They said they'd explain it at a later date.

To be honest I was expecting this upcoming generation to be digital only, kinda weird to drag this disc thing out..

You'd think they could have made a console without a disc drive and just chucked a bigger HD in there. (seriously only 500?)

maybe bluray games with their 25gb's are too big? so they are keeping it optional?

When physical media goes away, I'm done with modern gaming officially.

Microsoft is riding high on their success with 360. I think they're about to learn what it's like to be Nintendo.

Could be that this blocking of secondhand free trade could be illegal?

Or Sega in 2001. Too soon ? Ha ha.

The chap that I know that owns a Game Traders store over here knew about this months and months ago. He is concerned as selling pre-owned games is his bread and butter.
