Worst Titles on Gamecube

This is a really hard list but I'd be willing to see people take shots at the Gamecube library. I say its hard because Gamecube was really a quality over quantity system, and even if you're not a Nintendo fan, it is almost impossible to call most of the games abysmal. But among them the worst tend to be multiplatform games that were not that great to begin with. For first party, I often hear Pokemon Channel as one that gets panned the most, which is uncommon for a Nintendo title. The worst that comes to mind for me is Beyblade V-Force and compared to the previous Beyblade offerings on PS1, that one is virtually 'good'.

So what are your candidates for the worst GC games?

the only one i can offer up right now is v rally 3
a rally title so ghastly it makes me think v rally 2 was a fluke

I think Pokemon Channel gets slammed for obvious reasons. There's almost no game to be had.

Swimming, finding enemies, and beating them up. Then you swim on to find more enemies, and beat them up. Then you swim on and find some more enemies and.......
Throw in a crappy camera and poor controls, and you end up with a serious dud.
Aquaman: Battle for Atlantis. Fortunately I only rented this one. To have paid full price for a new copy of this "game" would have been bordering on criminal.

I never really thought of the Gamecube as having bad titles; just inconsequential ones. To be honest, if the Gamecube never existed, the world would not have known the difference.

I don't care what anyone says, I think Star Wars Rogue Squadron isn't as good as most claim it to be. It's just a glorified tech demo; looks nice, plays well, but is too short, lacks replay value and just has too little substance. I felt cheated paying full price for it back in the day, really I did.

There are hidden ships that you can play RS2 with, The Jackal.


My vote would go for the Backyard sports series. It's like Fisher Price sports games.

I got bored of them very quickly, but I can see others finding them worthwhile. Personally, they were a 5 min novelty and nothing else.

Gamecube eh...I'm going to play it safe and just say that every game on that crapsole sucks equally. You should've played a big boy console that generation like the DC or PS2. My little sister had a GC for God's sake. Grow a pair.

This is a comman misconception. Granted, there's not alot of good games on the system, but there ARE good games. Most of it's down to opinion, but what isn't?

Honestly though, I think a thread titled "best games on Gamecube" would have been easier, we'd have had like 10 games.

rest of them.. not memorable, not super bad, just not memorable.

I always wanted to like the gamecube, but so few gems came out for it, about a dozen that's it.

I don't think that I have any "bad" titles to talk about on the Gamecube since I mainly get the good or half decent games when I got it at the time, however instead I can think of some games that I remember that had a bad reception.

One I can think of straight away is Universal Studios Theme Parks Adventure and here's why. While it is a decent idea of craming a theme park into a game, it doesn't seem to work as a game or at least a console game. This would have worked better on a budget price PC software but even then it would have classed as shovelware. The problem is that a theme park is a different experience than a video game as in that you queue up in a line (a lot) then for one time only (unless you go back the next year or whenever) you experience the ride whether it is on a rollercoaster or a partly-interactive video. To get an unique experience on a game is very hard. I mean if it was an Universal Studios Theme Park management game, it would have been okay but how Kemco approached it was a minigame collection (basically Wii shovelware before the Wii existed), basic clones of older games mixed with a grindy fetch quest to "get" tickets to see the rides, purposely making the "game" longer. Also it doesn't work on real life where you have to pay to get in the park then go to the ride, queue up and go. I think the only reason why Kemco made this game was so they could use the Universal and the Woody Woodpecker licenses, the latter they also bought out a Crazy Castle game.

Also to make matters worse was that the licenses they had. Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, ET, Jaws, Waterworld. Okay maybe not the last 3 in terms of games due to the past titles but Back to the Future and Jurassic Park could have easily made good games. Plus the annoying atmosphere that the game has and that some people don't like Woody Woodpecker.

Other bad ones are also on other consoles like Catwoman and Aquaman (both characters from DC) and as for Disney's Magical Mirror starring Mickey Mouse is a very basic point and click adventure game that was disappointing for most people except very young kids, also the non-game Pokemon Channel. To be honest there weren't many bad games on the system just good, medicore and the typical licensed games really. Even Smashing Drive, a game that is considered bad by the gaming press and a bit misunderstood, I found it enjoyable. It is probably due to the fact that I played it in the arcade and not the console ports that strangely was never released in Europe despite the game being made in Barcelona, Spain (it was done by Gaelco, same people as Radikal Bikers, World Rally, Speed Up).

...and you're going to say that not only the console sucks, but all those games are equally as bad as Aquaman? I honestly don't think you've given it much of a chance. Play into some of those games, and see what you then think, because it truly is a system of quality over quantity.
