Nintendo and SEGA has announced today the ‘Rise of the Deadly Six’ after a silhouette image was teased to fans last week for Sonic Lost World. We saw a few clips of the Deadly Six in the latest Sonic trailer, but this time we’ve got new details of what to expect from these menacing creatures.
Known collectively as the Deadly Six, Dr. Eggman has recruited each of the fell creatures to make Sonic’s life miserable, but when the Deadly Six turn against their master, Sonic must join forces with his arch-nemesis to prevent the fall of the world. With his new moves to jump from platform to platform without losing speed, as well as his improved Colour powers, Sonic must defeat the Deadly Six through ever-changing landscapes.
In addition to single player mode, both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS versions will feature multiplayer modes and utilise the unique aspects of each of the consoles capabilities. Colour Powers on the Wii U are controlled through the console’s GamePad by tilting, touching and aiming in different directions, plus Sonic Lost World can be played entirely through the GamePad screen with two player support mode. But if you’re looking to purchase the 3DS version then you can look forward to fully realised 3D levels, exclusive special stages and unique colour powers. What are your reactions to the Deadly Six? Let us know in the comments below.
Mario Galaxy and Xtreme were my initial thoughts too.
If you have to have Sonic in 3D this looks like a good way of going about it.
I believe Pokemon Advanced Generation was a Nintendo published (?) / Sega licensed Sega Pico Console game back in the day so a Nintendo licensed (in certain regions) Sega game on their console is only fair.
It's generally accepted the Sonic Cycle is broken.
Holy crap, they brought Sonic Xtreme back to life!
A little bit of Galaxy perhaps, but thinking more (aside from the modern graphics and physics/other tech issues) most of the elements were already there in Xtreme. (including jumping/shooting from one level block/world to another in-game -at least when they were still working with Tiara's game mode)
The art style looks Nintendo/Galaxy-ish though.
Also, the original Xtreme wasn't developed by Sonic Team.
"you must spread some reputation around before giving it to Kamahl again" ;)
Sweet, good call there. ;)
