i am sure we all have thrown a controller or two during our gaming life
and demolished a controller two ( i smashed two dual shocks one during bloody roar 2 and another during anna kournikova's smash court tennis )
but do you still throw controllers ?
these days i just swear a lot and my controllers dont go flying any more
mostly because these days i pay for the controllers and games and consoles myself and i know how bloody expensive they are
which wasnt the case when i was a kid

Me neither... My friends would get pissed and throw a controller. Then I'd ask them to leave...
I punch anyone in the mouth that would throw a controller at my place. Touching any non-touch screen will result in something similar.

I once threw a neo geo AES in frustration against a concrete wall and it shattered. At that exact moment my friend's wife walked in and cut her foot really badly on one of the plastic shards. I had to pay for the AES and the hospital bill.

I always thought it's a very stupid thing to do, for four reasons:
1-) If you're furious 'cause the controller is cheap and doesn't work properly, then it's your fault 'cause you probably have cheaped out and don't know how to choose a good one.

I never throw controllers. I just cut myself then sit in a corner and tell myself it's all a bad dream.
No, I haven't sent a controller flying, but I have smashed a few in my younger years (all of the victims was of 3rd party design, and cheap as hell. if and when they would stop working I would finish them off). I would grab them by the cord and swing as hard as I could into the sidewalk. I would scavenge the leftovers to use for fixing other devices, the cord contained good wire for fixing traces, rubber membranes for fixing other controller.
I never EVER abused any of my controllers or systems. that's what you have your girlfriend for

You guys have some serious anger issues.
Star Fox 64 made me smash a controller once. It was partly for show, but I was genuinely pissed, and we were all delghtfully surprised just how resilient and durable the Nintendo 64 controller actually is.
