New console? Nope. Few reasons:
#1- Don't want to see Sega get its ass kicked anymore. They just didn't have the great minds required to make it. Too many inexcusable blunders.
#2- Personally, i'm really out of the loop on current gaming. Anything i play lately is older stuff.
I'd love it if Sega released a retro console, like Neo Geo X, that played everything up to the Dreamcast though. That i'd buy if it were decent enough quality.
That's not such a bad idea if you think about it. If SEGA did that, I hope they would have better execution than SNK Playmore and Tommo. Licensing would be a massive hurdle.Quote:

I have said this before and I will say it again. I want the talent from the 80s-90s versions of Sega, Taito, Konami, Capcom, Masaya/NCS, Technosoft, Game Arts, Namco (maybe), Midway/Williams, Bignet, Ancient, A-Wave, Westone, Hudson, and whoever else ever made a great Arcade/Action title to release a budget console with hardware powerful enough to port or 100% accurately emulate all of the best games in each company's catalogs. Then I want the developers responsible for these games to make entirely new games for this budget console first and then port these games over to the crappy consumer mega-corp boxes and stupid devices.
I don't care who makes such a budget game console (ASUS) but I would buy it under these circumstances. Consider it a "Free Friday" platform for talented game developers.

It's funny that people claim SEGA is dead and they're a shell of their former self without realizing that SEGA has ALL of their old Sega Enterprises, LTD properties protected under Trademark registration under the name "Sega Corporation" since 2007. Or that in 2009, SEGA renewed their 1st party publishing and licensing brands after 8 years of being inactive.
