Yeah, he reminds me of various remixers back in the early 2000's who only remixed songs that would get them the most views and downloads. They never broke away from the "everyone and their mother's heard it" VG tunes, which really bugged me in ways. So many wonderful OSTs from the Genesis, SNES, Master System and NES that rarely (if ever) got touched... and still don't.
Been listening to a lot of arranged stuff lately:
Rockman Zero - Esperanto: https://www.dropbox.com/s/swg8wjznmg...s%29.flac?dl=0
Rad Mobile - Soup Up: https://www.dropbox.com/s/o90oqo6lwm....%29.flac?dl=0
Dragon Spirit - Glacier Land: https://www.dropbox.com/s/au9ioujsb6...n%29.flac?dl=0
Yeah, that bugs me too. I think that the "least" know song that he covered was one from Shining Force II, and everyone was like "lol this sounds just like a music from Zelda 64 lol you need to make a Zelda cover lol".
Anyway, since today is 9/9/99...
Sonic Adventure - Windy Valley: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNnsfN5XeQg

Segarule: I wanted to respond to something you said several pages ago. You said something to the effect of you championing the Mastersystem which everyone seems to ignore, or at least, undervalue, and underestimate. I can very strongly relate with you, only my "pet system" is not the Mastersystem, but the PC Engine / Turbografx16.
I have come to like the PC Engine sound system at least equally as well as like the Genesis one. In fact, I would extend that to say that I like wavetable synthesis and FM synthesis about equal. They are certainly the two technology types that I am the most interested in, and spend the most time listening to (and featuring in posts here, as well as on Nerd Noise Radio.)
And actually, while I'm not quite ready to admit it to myself, I may actually even like wavetable just a smidge better than I like FM. The reason I say that is I've recently just listened to [more or less] every piece of .hes (PCE, TG16, SGX, PC-FX non-CD-Rom) music ever "officially" released in Audio Overload. Afterwards, I was suppose to do the same thing with Genesis, but I didn't even make it all the way through the A's before I found myself listening to a bunch of PC Engine music again. So, do with that what you will. I have thoroughly fallen in love with the PCE sound system. :)
In fact, I just finished uploading 100 videos to my Nerd Noise Radio YouTube channel, representing, I think, a good cross-section of the various levels of use of the soundsystem (from the basic stuff, which give it the false reputation of being NES+, to the really advanced stuff that sounds nothing like NES, and sounds as much like SNES as Genesis, and even more like neither of them.)
In the next few posts, I'll share a few that I feel only make more basic use of the PCE sound hardware, a few that make really fantastic use of the hardware, and a few that make sorta middle-of-the-road use.
Here are a few:
PCE Sound Hardware - Basic Use:

Okay, so that's 20 of the 100 I posted. There were also a few games where I uploaded the majority of the soundtrack, such as Shinobi, Dragon Spirit, Magical Chase, Bomberman, and Military Madness. I may post a few things from those later, but 20 videos risks overload already, so I'll wait. :)
Because Epicness never really left the 90s.

I hope you add Valis music. However i know that the Valis was published in CDROM media. Valis III in genesis was one of more lovable games in my list.Quote:

I don't see one bit poor sound in Valis 3.
I'm a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge sucker for minor dissonant ambient. This is a 30 minute long extended play video of a track that is only 1 minute long, which means you get to hear it 30 times....and for me, that's not enough by half. I don't know that I could sit for very long and focus on this track, but man, I could have it playing as background music all day long, and probably not get sick of it. It's not retro, but amid all the junk is some really great music in the more recent generations of video games.
Case in point: Outside the Twilight Palace - Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - GameCube / Wii (I played the Wii version - the music's the same in both):
And another 30 minute extended play from this game. This one so beautiful it's only been by sheer force of will that I haven't cried listening to it. It's the music that plays after you beat a boss. It's so perfect. It's peaceful, and relieved sounding. It's triumphant, but still has just a tinge of sadness to it, as if you've just come out the other side of a great trial and travail, like a new mother holding her new baby - labor's over. Anyway, this is just the perfect piece of music for the context of having just survived and prevailed in a major boss fight.
Enjoy!
