Well it pretty much the same but it sounds slightly different on the FM-Town. Apparently they mixed it differently for each game. Sometimes you dont really hear a difference but then there are some moments that its more obvious.
The Fm-towns version sounds more filtered and smoother while it sounds brighter but sometimes harsher on the PCE. There is something slightly more natural on the FM-towns version. Maybe I am biased because this is the version that I actually played.
I just tried ripping the music from a SOB Fm-towns ISO and Heck, the PC does not like it!!! I got the songs but there are some glitches here and there.
Last year There was a kick starter for a Turrican anthology from Chris Huelsbeck hiself. It will be like 5 CDs and contains original music as well as modern remakes. I backed it to have the digital version. Project seems to be going well but not yet ready.

Segadream really really appreciates him some video game music, as you can very well see.
And I also appreciate being appreciated.;)

What a great tune.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOmA2ruTWqM&list=PLC7800867D27D9295This one has lots of progression.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xEz71ZIEmM&list=PLC7800867D27D9295One of the main reasons I choose this game as THE #1 Snes game of all time is it's music. I like Earthbound as much as the next guy, but this should be the higher priced game in my opinion.

This is how a boss battle against a main boss should sound like.
Behold: The YM2151. The best FM synthesizer ever produced by Yamaha.
That Star Trader song is emulated incorrectly, it's not playing the drums :p.
Yeah, that's the only video featuring that tune unfortunately :(.
Truxton II is authentic, though!
And Truxton 2 sounds freaking win.
This menu song is still awesome after all these years.

What about some YM2151 - Roland MT32 Duet? :)

If you play a guitar why aren't you playing video game songs.
It's why I have two and a bass.

I fricking hate youtube and its crappy emulated music compilations. What I hate even more than youtube though is that Nintendo systems don't have sound tests by default.
That's a lot of hate you got there sheath, you mad bro?
While I will be the first to say the majority of my posts are Snes game music, I will also say that it is because to me, the Snes rocked, period.
You seem to miss the "Appreciation" theme, and seem to be "Hating", get a life, I don't care if you approve or not.
Here is a Sega one THAT I LIKE.

And one of the best soundtracks for a game that I have ever had the pleasure of owning:

Click the watch on youtube button to access the whole soundtrack. I especially love track 6 and 12.
Aww cmon guys, I listen to every single soundtrack posted here. I can appreciate both Snes or Genesis music, anyway please stay civil Id hate to see this thread derail.
While I wish all youtube recordings were from original hardware, sadly not gonna happen. Worse is how bodody bothers to write the source in the description. I usually assume that unless original hardware is specified in the description, it is emulation.
SegaDream, Is that you on the guitar?
Here is some excellent music from Soldier blade.

My fave from this title:

Just discovered this one recently. BRAIN MELTING use of the Mega Drive. I love the "8-bit" sounding part, and the main melody just SCREAMS without sounding harsh.
^ Very good!
Hitoshi Sakimoto FTW
I've really been getting into the SID. This is my favorite by FAR:
The best Castlevania track you've probably never heard:
This is one Happy track! It pushes the Game Boy chip so hard: (Won't embed for some reason)

This game was so hard to me as a kid for some reason.
I like this stage too.
