Yeah well... I already own one. I love it. I'm eagerly awaiting Earth Defense Force 2025.
Only problem is that's not getting me to buy your next generation console now is it, dumbass?

the grey the psx if you prefer
the model 1000's ( the one with the rca jacks on the back ) are almost always dead
the 5000 series is suspectible
the 7000 and 9000 series les so the later ps1's have better quality plastic
but the quality of the 1994-1996 psx's is arse
Yeah I've got a 7000 series. Sometimes I need to take a dry q-tip to the laser but it otherwise works like a champ.
Ah! I was deep in Nintendo between 1992-1998. My first PlayStation was the little white PSone.
I guess we'll see how the consoles hold up.
That was hilarious Obviously!
thats probably why you had no problems with your ps 1
you came in when all the kinks were worked out
i liked the ps 1 with its 5 inch screen it was a great little all in one system too bad the ps2 never got that
( im from the generation that calls the grey ps1 psx and the white one the ps 1 )
I can't wait till that PSX flashcard is fully finished and for sale, no more laser talk ever!
The reason I don't call it the PSX is because it makes me think of that funny Japanese only PSX DVR system thingy box. I also bought a grey PS1 not too long ago, but I'm not sure what model it is.
I have that screen! Screen works great. Hinge broke. I has a sad.
I like the sound of that!
Yeah, I'm generally confused when people call it the PSX due to the reason that the PSX is that japan exclusive Ps2 version.
I generally call the original model PS or Ps1 and the slimmer version PsOne (since that's what the logo said).
most ps1 fans who had it in the 90's will call it psx regardless
the dvr psx isnt well known out side err well us ie the nerdy hardcore gamers
you can easily figure out what type of psx you have
does it have rca jacks ? model 1000
is the laser array mounted on the right side instead of the left ? model 5000
is the array on the left side with a ext port on the back and no rca jacks ? model 7000
no ext port on the back just av and power ? model 9000
or you coudl just flip it over and read the model nr on the back ;)
I actually think it's more of a Model 1000 :?
Sadly it doesn't play the sound from the games and it lacks support for quite a few mapper chips.
BUT it does allow you to play music CDs at 1x or 2x speed while playing them :J
