I really do remember anticipating a new console launch. But these things aren't consoles.

I will give you this, Knack will totally flop. Sony is doing a shity job marketing it. Its simply a Katamari Damacy wanna be for kids.
I am pretty sure I have said this before. The XbOne and PSFouuur have nothing on the upgraded budget PC I last spent $350 on summer of 2012. Octal Core AMD, check, 16GB DDR3, check, HD7800+ Graphics, check. This is the first generation I have ever even been close to the newest game console hardware in my most recent PC build.
All I see is a couple of megalomaniacal companies scrambling for relevance.
PSFouuur outselling Xbone 2:1 or even 4:1 is going to mean less sales than the average cruddy tablet PC and even lower software sales than the average cruddy smart phone game.
NSC Super computer vs NSA Super computer
No system sellers for me. Mid-range PC specs. Heavy network reliance backed by the corproation who doesn't know what the fuck they're doing, who's been financially beaten senselessly for almost a decade.
I like the PS4 more than the poisonous microsoft crossbone, but I have a Vita, I know Sony, I know they don't have a comprehensive back-end. I think there's going to be a lot of hype, disappointment, and frustration with this product. I hope I'm wrong, I might buy one anyway. Consoles are becoming a thing of the past. Steam Machines might shake things up for everybody.
Like I said I heard this since, what, 2007 or so and yet 2 generations of super computer netflix consoles were released after. I think "consoles" will keep releasing as long as there are extra bells and whistles (go on twitter to read what somebody else is doing), Madden, GTA for teenagers mainly and NSA contracts to look and hear in your living room (NSA Microsoft since 1988 monopoly settlement, NSC Sony). PS4, XB1, PC, Newer tablet, what's really the difference ?
The only megalomaniacal company as far as I'm concerned is Microsoft. Remember, they wanted every 24hours DRM, no trading or selling games, mandatory kinect, region locking, etc. And they still plan on running your living room with Xbox TV and fitness games, while farming information.
Sony came out and declared that games were first (independent and mainstream publishers) no DRM, no region locking. Microsoft felt the heat and caved in. Me, and a plethora of gamers voiced opposition to Microsotf's practices all over the web. Competition is a healthy thing for everyone. Thanks to Sony, neither console has all those draconian features. So stop the Sony hate. Like it or not, Sony did the gaming community a great service. I'm not a fan boy, I'm just calling it as I see it. I am suspicious of Microsoft's absolute obsession with Kinect. It cant possibly be produced simply for entertainment.
No entertainment device will outsell a smart phone/tablet. Tablets and Smartphones are used for business, pleasure, information, and education. Game consoles cannot claim that. They are purely entertainment. Not a fair comparison.
I'm going to the PS4 for the exclusives. Fable, Halo and Forza do not interest me. I'll get Titanfall on PC. Crimson Dragon aint worth $500 bucks. I despise Kinect. It is what it is.
Games consoles can go to sites for business, information and education, you can watch netflix or avis of porno for pleasure on it all while playing the most popular games. My point is a PC, smartphone, tablets and consoles are basically the same, super multi purpose devices. I can watch netflix on my phone, I can play angry birds or warfare games on a Surface and I can gather information from a console, like when Sony online service had credit card info stolen or have NSA record information from me from an Xbox or PS4 on skype and they save it on a Sony HD. I can play FIFA2013 or youtube to watch a girl zombied from her smartphone fall down a manhole or even go on skype on any of those devices. They all provide entertainment.

It is what it is.
The only next gen piece of hardware I've seen to be truly excited about is Oculus Rift
I should have said can game consoles claim all of that ( business, pleasure, information, and education) at the capacity of smartphones/tablets.
Anyway...
1. Can you create an Excel, Access, Word or Adobe document on a game console?
2. Can you make music and movies on a game console?
3. Can you use a game console at a school while in class to learn/study the curriculum? (In theory, yes. Will schools allow it, no).
4. Can you use create folders and files independent of game/music/movie data on a game consoles to store personal files?
And there is more I'm sure. The answer to all of that is no.
Okay.
Why can't you use Excel on XB1 or maybe you can through your buddies Surface cloud ? Some Adobe apps can run on Ouya.Quote:

Mario Paint music maker SNES, Music Creation for PS1, Kriss Kross Video Sega CD, I'm sure PS4 can run new CuBase app.Quote:

Well PS3 was close to that, but I haven't seen PS4 menu yet.Quote:

Mario Paint music maker SNES, Music Creation for PS1, Kriss Kross Video Sega CD, Uhhh...NO! All that stuff is old and seen largely as a novelty or child's program. The consoles will never compete with professional music making/publishing software that tablets offer. Even if CuBase runs on PS4/Xbone, it wont sell systems. And fat chance of Microsoft ever delivering Excel on the Xbox One. Ouya IMHO is already dead.
Ha Ha I was joking Lan, I was even laughing while typing Mario Paint, that shit is mad old. But some people make cool stuff with it still. Ouya might find the WiiU next to it in graveyard soon. I'd rather mess with music hardware wise (actual piano) rather than programs on PC but programs on PC are cool too. Can't see doing music on tablet or making drums on smartphone.
Come on Lan, break out that snes
