Yeah, I just play the PS4 at other peoples places because the best exclusives are coming out for it next year of course and i'll buy one then.
I'd buy a Wii U, but i'm waiting for worthwhile exclusives on that too.

Hence that the PS4 is selling on hype and the fact that it's new. Really there's only 3 games that had me interested in a PS4/Xbox One. Destiny, Kingdom Hearts III, and Final Fantasy XV. Destiny after seeing the Beta comparisons I've come to the conclusion that there's no shame in owning the 360 version. Both 360/PS3 and PS4/Xbox One run at 30fps and seem to play fine. Graphically most of the details seem to be there in the 360 version, it's just running at a lower resolution and some of the shader effects aren't quite as nice. The PS4 version does look nicer, but not enough to justify $400. And if KH3 and FFXV go PC (or Wii U if SE gets desperate seeing Japanese PS4 sales tank) I have no reason to get a PS4/Xbox One.
Alright, still doesn't explain the crappy PS2 launch titles and the shitty games it had for like the first 1 and whatever of its lifespan. Or how Wii U in its first year already had more highly accliamed games than PS4. Oh the photorealistic graphics? I don't care about that... :?:?:?:? rather have a highly artistic game that plays great and is worth picking up than Killzone...
I feel sorry for everyone in this thread who forgot games exist outside of the AAA spectrum and that 'creative' and 'artistic' titles are and have been dime a dozen now since forever.
I have an xbone at the moment. There are games on it I own and enjoy. Some of them were available on the ps3/360, but I decided to not get them and just get them on the newer systems instead of re purchasing (tomb raider, ac4).
I've got TR, forza, dr3, ac4, guacamelee, crimson dragon, and strike suit zero. The last three of which could/can be had for free for gold members. I also have Killer Instinct available for free play with a random character when I feel like it.
Not a star studded line up, but not a bad one.
The other games I have are titanfall and kinect sports rivals that came with the system, and dance central which is the thing that pushed me to get it earlier (GF wanted it, chipped in for system with me).
If that wasn't the case, I wouldn't have either yet. I use the system daily, but the typical summer game drought is horrible on them right now since there's no library of older games yet. I'd probably have been looking at both of them around next holiday season at the earliest, if not later.
Anyway:

"Ikaruga director Hiroshi Iuchi is working a new shoot-'em-up for PlayStation 4 called Ubusana.
The project comes from M2, the studio behind the Xbox 360 version of Cave's Bug Princess and Sega's remastered classics on Nintendo 3DS, and is in the early stages of development."
Interesting.
That is awesome!
1. You are wrong my fellow Trekkie. That 10mil is sold to paying customers. Read!--->http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/08/...lls-10-million
2. Hype?!? You gotta be frakin' kidding me. The PS4 is #1 because
a. The greedy execs at Microsoft initially tried to shove Kinect, TV, data farming, and DRM down the consumers throat.
b. Sony played thier cards right and catered to the games and games only. Not gimicks and theater.
c. Nintendo is stuck on stupid, worse that Sega was with the Dreamcast. Making a new game console based on ancient technology, a useless gamepad, and milking the fat plumber are all contributing factors in the PS4's success. The WiiU was created to compete with the Xbox 360 and PS3. Not the PS4 and Xbone. Nintendo underestimated Sony and banked on the 3DS and old exclusives that the mainstream has largely abandoned. GTA V and Minecraft is what most pre-teens (Nintendo's target demographic) want, not a fat cartoony plumber. Skylanders and Disney Infinity are largely toys for kids in transition. My kid abandoned Skylanders months after getting it.
Khan, I'm laughing at the superior intellect.

In many respects people want the fat plumber. Superior Intellect recognizes people (for whatever reason) still like Mario even after the upteenth installation. I don't know why people aren't sick of it yet but people keep buying titles with Mario in the name or in the game. As we have seen many times prior, another Mario game has given this system new life which is able to slap around the X1 for the past 3 months.
That's fine and dandy, the NPD numbers still don't seem to reflect that. For 2013 we have about 1.5 -2 million sold in the US, for 2014 we have about 1.8 million sold so far. So if we take a middle ground guess at 1.75 million for 2013 and add 1.8 to it we have 3.5 million. Add in Japan's 600k and we're at about 4.1 million. This means that Europe and Australia have to be pulling 60% of the PS4's worldwide sales. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it is unlikely seeing as how that's typically a smaller market than the US. So either Europe has suddenly become a bigger market than the US for video games, or Sony is using some different metric for determining how many systems are sold.
That is a stretch at best. If that is the case, the WiiU would have enjoyed the same hype. Your case is utter nonsense.Quote:

Do yourself a favor and watch the 2014 Gamescon Sony and Microsoft presentations (games galore). And don't forget, TGS is around the corner. I can guarantee PS4 will have bigger guns than the WiiU at TGS.Quote:
