Angry Joe cannot be taken seriously. He is an internet personality that profits from being comical. He is there only to entertain and make money at the same time. Nothing wrong with that, but it is his opinions and personality that makes him relevant to a degree, like a radio shock jock. Killzone and Titanfall are not artful and feel- good collectible games. They are highly rated main stream 1st person shooters. The FPS genre is in more demand than fat plumbers, mushroom people, and green dinosaurs. That's a fact jack, like it or not.
Are you sitting there suggesting his complaints aren't warranted? Its not just him, lots of people thought the game was a shitfest. So because the dude makes Youtube videos and a few jokes here and there, his opinions (which you never addressed just shrugged) don't mean squat? :| ....
The game had bad AI, bad multiplayer (which is dead of course) and a bad single player story. What is the redeemning quality of the Killzone franchise? What is your favorite character? Even the shooting mechanics feel slow. Enjoy being behind cover 80% of the game.... lol
I never once said either game was my favorites nor have I exalted Killzone or Titanfall. What I provided with you was the facts. And the facts I proved were reviews and copies sold. Angry Joe has merit, I'll give you that. Just like John Stewart and Rush Limbaugh have merit to a degree. But opinion is only good for like minded individuals or for people who need guidance. And entertainment is for all who accept it as entertainment. Angry Joe falls into all those categories.
What do you want me to say? Nintendo is the true definition of video games and everything else is second class? That would probably be something that you would love to hear because back in the mid eighties to the early 90s that's exactly how the mainstream consumer and retailers regarded Nintendo. Karma is a bitch aint it. ;)
I'm beginning to doubt that we'll ever see a Steambox. Someone has to come up with a box that is less expensive to build than the PS4 and Xbox, and have a price that is more enticing than that of the consoles. Sony and MS can sell their systems at a break-even price, while a 3rd party Steambox provider has to build a system that can create a profit for them.
The Steambox seems to be more like the 3DO model, where manufacturers build their own version of the console and must rely on the sales of their systems to make a profit. The only way the Steambox will ever hit the market, is if Valve builds it themselves. Valve would have to sell it at a slight loss, and make back that loss through software sales from Steam.
When the Wii U launched the idea of that level of DRM wasn't even on the table. That fear didn't start building until early 2013. There was no hype or relief or excitement over that when the Wii U launched because the issue didn't exist yet.
Killlzone is a mediocre to average FPS and it shows in it's metacritic score:

And don't even try to say 73 is a stellar score. We both know if I pulled up a Wii U game with a 73 Metacritic score you'd laugh and say that's a terrible game with bad reviews. Infamous isn't a bad game but it has no replay value. I remember when it came out a lot of people were talking about how they beat it then went and sold it back to Gamestop. That's not worth the entry price of $400. Resogun isn't bad, but again I'm not buying a PS4 just to play that, especially when indie shooters like that are a dime a dozen on PC and other platforms.
Or I can just look at the highlights. Looking down the game announcements I'm not seeing anything amazing or interesting. It's just a bunch of sequels or generic safe titles. The few interesting titles there's not much info out other than "This looks awesome! We have no idea what this game is about or even how you play it or what the objective is, but it must be awesome!" I'm not seeing anything even remotely unique or exciting as what Nintendo has shown in their Directs and their E3 sessions. And I wouldn't expect much out of TGS for the PS4. TGS is Japan centric, and right now the PS4 is pretty much dead in the water over there. If Sony had anything amazing to show there they would have probably announced it by now to try and ignite sales and interest. I wouldn't be surprised if Sony's TGS presentation was just some Square Enix Trailers and Metal Gear Solid V.
OK, you have a point with Killzone, I'll give you that. But that's about it.
1. Regarding the Xbone DRM. Gamers could have easily decided to get a WiiU and embrace the plumber AND saved $100 in lieu of getting a PS4 with all of its "mediocre" games.
2. By stating that the Gamescon presentations did not provide anything new proves that you are stretching your argument. There was plenty of unique and new games. I'm happy to see that some actually have the fortitude to create new original material instead of playing it safe and producing another sequel.
3. The PS4 will have a substantial presence at TGS 2014. Multiple links....

And to be honest I am very much looking forward to Monolith's X and Zelda on the WiiU.
Hey Trekkies, how come you never back up my Bayonetta posts? It's as if you are ashamed that Bayonetta 2 will be released on the WiiU, like the game doesn't belong. Because that's exactly whats going on at the Nintendo Life forums. Neo Gaf forums loves Bayonetta. I guess the Nintendo fanboys are intimidated by a sexy flamboyant female protagonist for some reason.....
there a bit to kiddie, I mean something like a modern day sega rally/Daytona, buggy boy, f zero type racer, or theme park/hospital type game, excite bike game,
something bright but a little bit more grown up
not just another fps, or forza/gran turimso game
little big planet is good for kids but its too cartoon network for me, I'm 34
The PS4 is pretty much the console of this generation. Sure, some of these titles will appear on the PC as well, but for those gamers that can't afford, or don't want to deal with the PC as a gaming platform, the PS4 is the platform of choice.
Ikaruga creator is working on a new game for the PS4.

last guardian is a rip off never ending story boo
Yeah no doubt the PS4 will have games, the issue for most people it doesn't have games now. Also Last Guardian? I fucking bought a PS3 for that, its never coming out lol. LittleBigPlanet 3 is on PS3... its literally a port of a PS3 game to PS4.
Its using the making engine from two with upgrades. I dunno, i was excited but I might get it on sale on PS3. A nicer HD version would be nice in the future... sure it will be free on PSN Plus by the time the PS4 is worth owning.
