impressive
the mario sprite is a bit chunky but big and well defined
The sound along with the music seems too rich for the Atari 2600 sound capabilities. And Mario's sprite is too good me thinks. And even enemies are multicolored sprites with animations? That's too much but i don't know better.
the music doesnt come from the atari its played along as the game plays
probably an mp3 or something
It was done in basic o_O.

I remember seeing earlier versions of this homebrew on AtariAge, it's definitely real. The underground theme sounds pretty much the same as it has before, but it looks like the game has had some improvements.
As of right now I want this game on a cartridge.
I saw the early level 1-1 version of this a while ago. Is it the whole game now?
Yeah that's real.

Also for some neat graphical tricks take a look at stuff like Solaris and Enduro. There's some truly impressive games on the 2600.
its still pretty bloody impressive considering its 1977 tech
