back in the days topic

a confession to all sega peeps
back in the days i used to fight nintendo owners. and actually fight them till they ran away. in the early nineties things got escalated when i was alone and 5 nintendo peeps against me

and seriouzsly the would actually hit me with that nintendo glove.

(i swear)

and then my sega peeps and i took revenge an freak them up real bad.

thats how it went in here. i still remember playing sonic the hedgehog 1 with the official sega megadrive arcade stick.(the one with only three buttons) on a tv in the corner. there were guys in the early stage of playstation that bought it. and they actually compromisd the brotherhood. this was untill i was alone with a few left. but we enjoyed still.

yeah i used to kick them hard cuz the nintendo fans of back then were seriously different peeps. they would actually say that mario bros 1 looked better then alex kidd in miracle world. while we all know that aint true. mario was just a pixel innit?

there were magazines back in the days lik emean machine sega or sega mega force. where we would send draws we made. one of my best was that i drawed sonic overiding mario untill his freaking eyeballs popped out with bloodstains on the ground dragging him
that turned out to be a 1 page comic.

lucky me they actually accepted my 1 page comic and put it on sega mega force in belgium.

i joined the sega crew ever since. i loved the game gear more then the gameboy. i loved the master system more then the nes. and i loved the megadrive more then the snes. it was obvious i didnt choose sega blindly. it was how it is.

i liked it and i like it. i loved it and i love it. and it never stopped ever since. while many allready joined the psx . i was actually stopping at nothing to get a saturn while the psx was cheap ass. in the early stage of psx the games were shitty anyways.

dont u guys miss the old days where sega actually was a norm and a thing to have. i can still feel it. but i wish i was back in time with my megadrive.

When I was a kid who bought mostly nintendo products because that's what I was mostly exposed to and the sega commercials made sega look like bullies. I eventually bought a genesis as well because of sonic 2. I never got into fights or arguments over it because I liked games by both companies.

I don't miss the old days these days you can use all kinds of cool hardware to upgrade these classic machines.

To me the CSK era is a greek tragedy. SEGA in the 90s put out so many memorable games and noteworthy consoles.

Is just that management-wise they were a mess. Because of that, they collapsed in 2001.


I too miss, the "hardware" SEGA. And HATE the image problems that has plagued them during the SegaSammy era. Outside of Japan, people see them nothing more than a tiny worthless publisher and console hasbeen. They don't realize how much profit and capital SEGA has or that they have more capital they when they were CSK.

But things are GETTING better. Financially, SEGA has had a good 5 years and they have indicated that they are preparing to transition.


On the topic of SEGA magazines Interesting clue found in Orbi's description the first one that'll be published next week:

I remember really disliking the playstation when it was new. I also didn't find the n64 so great. I kinda gave up on consoles after the 16 bit era because I actually didn't know the saturn even existed.

swap trick as wll but im planning to buy modchip at racketboy

where I'm from nobody had nintendo's basically. it was all sega except a few who had a nes from really back in the day. but anything megadrive and master system blew nintendo out of the water except some nes games like kirby. I think I also have known only one person who owned a snes, was around mid 90s but I was not impressed

Hahaha same here, for a few years i didn't even knew that the snes existed.
Only rich , snoby kids from São Paulo had a snes. Yet, despite the huge success of the Master System and the Mega Drive in Brasil, because of this godamm influence of US on the people here, now eveyone
had a snes, loved the snes , the snes was the best, snes had mario, final fantasy(that never is final)and zelda, my dog loved the snes, granny loves the snes - but that's only because that is what i read in the internet when in reality i only played it on a emulator with a keyboard in my house sega only had sonic

except for that one annoying kid down the block, he'd always be ranting about how superior the Mega Drive was,
and he would always try to fight the kids who wouldn't accept his word as truth, so one day me and a couple
other kids decided we had enough, we all waited for him to come home from school and we kicked his ass!

Like most 80s kids, my very first system was the NES. I got mine on December 27,1987, my 5th birthday at Chuck E. Cheese. Until 1st grade, my stepfather only allowed me to play it with his permission and he would set it up in the den.

I first played Sonic 1 in July of 1991. My mom's girlfriend's husband at the time was a 26 year old "big kid" who brought the Genesis with its $150 price cut. I was completely memorized by the game. The speed, the ingenuity, the character(I was 8 at the time, so I didn't know what a Hedgehog was. I thought Sonic was a cat.) He taught me how to play and how to beat Labyrinth Zone.

Didn't get a Genesis until 1993 (like I said before, got a SNES for Christmas in 1991). My cousin owned one and everyone remembered the "SAY-GA" scream in the TV commercials. It could only help my mom to finally get my baby brother and I a Genesis. So in September of 1993, she plunked down $125 in cash(She worked at Venture and got a 25% discount.) and got us a Genesis and Mortal Kombat. The Genesis was a BRAND NEW Model 2 and came packed in with Sonic 2. So I got 2 games for the price of one.

That Christmas, my stepdad got me the JVC 'X Eye. My older stepbrother and I played the hell out of Prize Fighter.

I rented Sonic CD in April of 1994. Loved it. And tried to get it, but being 11 and living with a Middle class Military father, we couldn't afford new games at the time.

Got SEGA Channel in June 1995. My step-dad thought it be a good investment seeing that some douche had swiped my SNES games and stole MK Genesis, I played it for 12 hours a day.

Again, got Saturn in August 1997. We had just transferred to Seattle,WA. My baby brother got Mega Man 8 and I got Sonic 3D Blast(I sold this piece of junk for Sonic Adventure.) later that year, I got Fighters Megamix,Daytona USA,VF2, Sega Rally, Virtua Cop, and for Christmas Sonic Jam.

I brought me a Dreamcast 2 months after launch on November 8,1999 at Gamecrazy.(I miss them so much *Sigh*) didn't get Soul Calibur and others until Christmas '99 as get well gifts from classmates and family for while I was in the hospital being treated for a life threatening illness.

I always liked Nintendo and Sega when I was a kid, I had a SNES and a Genesis. Had an NES for a short while, and the Genesis only for a few years though, so I had more exposure to the SNES. Unfortunately, my mom threw away the NES and gave away the Genesis. :( I still have my original SNES to this very day at least.

I just used to throw Sega CD discs at the Nintendo fan boys shinobi style, followed by six button game pad nunchucks, and then finish them with a sonic boom (no, not that dweeb guile move) a smash round the face with a real hedgehog, painted blue. Those little bitches would run home crying for their fat plumber mother to come save them, so I would treat her to a bit of blast processing, 9 months later the Saturn popped out. True story, look it up...... It's on Wikipedia probably.

Most of my friends had SNES or Amiga, I had a MD & Atari ST. But we never fell out, just the odd sarcastic comment..... Which of course would result in somebody being beaten to death with a 32x :-) I miss the good ole days.....

i had an old commodore 64c and then when sega master system was there brand new at its prime ftw
never had i another console.

the real gangstahs = ps3 and sega( sega the biggest mobbs)

sega peeps used to listen to cypress hill the old one i knew

the nintendo dudes came crying like sissys playing gameboy link tetris show of. but i was happy with my sega; man not one moment was i jelouss.

I'm tired of their bullshit gimmicks and weak hardware. Thank God Wii U is failing.

I want the OLD "Nintendo" back. The one that put out decent hardware,good management, proper 3rd party guidelines and CARED about game developing art.
