I do and I've been wanting to sell it but it's going for a pretty penny on ebay and thats where I was going to list it, I even have the light gun for that 1 level.
Sent you a PM Helder, I'm just interested in the game as I already have a justifier for the Sega CD. Thanks
Just out of curiosity, what does it sell for?
Upwards of 100.00 complete, probably more. Hell, I sold my loose copy for 75.00 years ago.
Yes, similarly websites like pricecharting and rarityguide use eBay as a reference - the "sold" listing feature is not available at the moment but $200.00 has been a minimum. I think the popularity of Snatcher weighs in more than rarity on its inflating price tag.
It's true the game ranges from $200 minimum on ebay all the way to over $350.
Pretty crazy how much that game his gone up in price, it won't catch up to Kieo Flying Squadron though :)
My buddy got a CIB copy of Snatch last month for 160 and he couldn't whip out his money fast enough :)
I've seen listings for $350.00 - $400.00 but never recollected that price being realized; however I have no doubt it has happened. It's typically the old scenario of "people can ask whatever they want" and a buyer desperate enough to commit.
Regardless of whatever the game, rare and otherwise, I couldn't personally justify spending $200.00+ on a game. I can understand the novelty of owning a highly demanded game like Snatcher, but it really comes down to being patient and finding a reasonable seller.
I got mine for about $170 in 2010 and felt like I overpaid, mainly because copies had been maxing out at about $150 for quite awhile around then. I just got in a sticky situation where all three copies that were up at auction were inflated due to the same person (new to ebay) continually overbidding and then not paying the sellers. I refused to do second offers on them too because the sellers seemed to think I should pay my max price even though the person who outbid me had no intention of paying. I stopped looking then for a couple months and the price rose.
Eventually I located a almost near mint copy of Snatcher and bought that. I can't complain too much though at the price on Snatcher, because that same seller sold me Keio for a cool $100 at the time ;)
Insanity, that's what those prices are! I guess you folks are better off financially than myself. I'm pretty sound money wise, but I could never pay $100 or more for a video game. I guess it's all in what you want though because there are things that I would pay more for than most. Still, that...is...just...crazy!
What's crazy is that this game probably has ~100,000 copies out there in the wild, but that is somehow deemed as "rare". I could see if there were only ~1500 copies produced, such as the purported case with Spider-Man: Web of Fire. But seriously, the price is overblown, and the gameplay simply isn't there. I've already argued enough with the people over at SEGA's official forums about this. As the old saying goes, one man's junk is another man's treasure.
Looking at actual completed listings that weren't impulsive BINs it looks like the going rate is $125-$225 depending on condition.
Probably $150-175 for a decent shape one, minty a bit more, I haven't scouted the prices recently though.
