You didn't think it was funny? I thought it was funny.

Na, I don't think so.
...and OP, did you forget about Sega & Sonic All-Star Racing? Plus I think there was another one way back on the GameGear.
No, why? Well anyway, Nintendo does produce more kid friendly stuff, that's true especially lately, but lets not generalize so much.
And its also funny how some of that happy and cute stuff are more mature than most of the other stuff you see from other companies who try so hard to be dark and edgy. For instance, i find most modern Sonic games much more immature than recent Mario games even though Mario games look more cute. The same can even be said for some violent "mature" games that try too hard and end up being juvenile and embarrassing really.
Agreed. The "mature" label just means there is subject matter that kids shouldn't be playing. Is it mature as in such content will appeal to me because I'm an adult? Of course not. Many games ought to be rated "J" for juvenile. I think the movie rating system has a more appropriate rating scale - general audiences, parental guidance suggested, parental guidance 13, and restricted 17 and up. Sounds better than "everyone" or "mature".
Nintendo's target audience has always been family friendly entertainment. NOJ and Howard Lincoln trail-blazed this. Take for example the names of the consoles. Famicom, Super Famicom, Wii, WiiU. They all have one thing in common, a family/friends theme. Its not that they market to kids only, they market to kids AND Parents. That's always been Nintendo's mission. Target both the eager child and parent/guardian. The kid has demands the games, the parents approve because they can benefit from it as well. That's always been their philosophy. Wii Fit, Wii Sports, and the Wii Balance Board are all aimed towards soccer moms and active adults. Xenoblade Chronicles was only released in the USA because of popular demand. Nintendo had no intention of releasing it otherwise. Nintendo mostly leaves all the other games mostly to third party publishers. I'm still shocked that they are handling Bayonetta 2. Must be that ass on her, lol.
Back in the NES/Famicom days Nintendo had an even more stringent family friendly policy. Gamesradar.com did a covered this qiute well. Link-->http://www.gamesradar.com/nintendo-banned-in-the-usa/
That's one reason why the Nintendo Seal of Quality was replaced simply with the Official Nintendo Seal.
Nintendo is sorta like KIX cereal. Kid tested mother approved .

I think that was a good reason for the success of the Wii. It appealed to everyone else, that the PS3 and 360 didn't appeal to.
I think the bike frames came first.
Marquis de Sade had one.
I know what the bike frames are for:
