And another PS3 controller broke - 3rd Party options ?

Our 3rd PS3 controller broke yesterday, and apparently, it happened at random. Day one, everything work fine. Day two, the right joystick is dead. Nothing wrong happened with the controller.

This is our 3rd Sony (official) controller breaking. The first was a PS Move controller (Never managed to fix it. Yes, the ball completely broke). The second controller broke, when it apparently fell on the floor only once or so. And now, a third controller break, due to pretty much nothing.

These controller are quite expensive (Hell, I remember when I paid a GameCube controller 20 bucks. Good times), so I'm curious about it, are they any other 3rd party controller I could try, but are more reliable than the Sony controller?

Seriously, this is getting annoying. XD I can't count the number of times I dropped a GameCube controller, or even a Dreamcast one. Still work.

Make sure you had/buy Official PS3 pads, and don't be so sure you ever had a real one to begin with. There are a shocking number of KOs out there which look virtually like the real thing! Packaging, brands, logos, etc.

There have been many an otherwise legit amazon.com seller, who have been fooled, thinking they were selling the real thing.

Pretty much the only place i'd feel comfortable buying one nowadays is from a local retailer like Wal-mart. But it wouldn't suprise me if they've been fooled too. The differences between an original and one of those Kos are very subtle, like slight molding curvature, led light plastic sticking out a bit far, NOT being able to sync with a PSP-Go, etc.

Thats about the only ironclad way to know lol, besides taking it apart and looking at the insides. its not enough to operate by blue-tooth and work on the PS3 just fine, the PSP-Go will ONLY sync with legit pads.

However, since the PSP-Go kinda sucked, few have one to test their controllers with.

My PS3 controllers were solid and never had issues. I have hardwood floors too and they took a tumble once or twice.
