im thinking of saving up some money for a few months and importing a turbo duo system, but I have a few questions.
what is the price range currently for a used japanese turbo duo (first model)? and what are some good decently priced cd games to buy for it?

GET A DUO RX.
You might have to pay slightly more, but the extra investment is worth it.
The Duo RX was the last revision of the console and had some design changes made that greatly improved it's potential lifespan. Earlier revisions had ICs that were prone to heat damage after countless hours of play.
nat, I think I might go with the duo rx. ive heard alot of good things about the rx when compared to the duo-r or duo.
