Games that you feel would get the masses to flock to the WiiU.

What games in your opinion would get you and the masses interested in owning a Wiiu?
What games would make you stand up and say "I need a WiiU!"

My idea's with explanation.

1. Luigi's Mansion 2, as I've said before (many many times) I feel that Luigi's Mansion was a very good game for the GameCube,
The GameCube looking back was similar to the WiiU, it offered nice graphics and all that stuff but there are just not as many
good games for it as there are for the NES/Snes/Wii, so having a good Nintendo game like Luigi's Mansion on a console would
imo help out this uninteresting console.

2. An Earthbound remake in cellshaded 3D, why? well not only is Earthbound a very entertaining and fun RPG, it has also pretty much
reached cult status, and copies of Snes Earthbound are being sold for extremely high prices, so high that people are bootlegging
the game in hopes of making some of this money, so why not remake this game into 3D? I'm normally a purist but I think Earthbound
could look very nice if remade like this, hell you could even use the engine and models to remake the original Earthbound of the NES
as a DLC downloadable, and call it NESS' first quest or something.

3. A new Metroid Prime game, because Metroid Prime is awesome! and the tablet thingy could work very well for a metroid game.


What are your ideas?

Are you not counting Dark Moon as Luigi's Mansion 2?

I think a new IP entirely or something that's a must-buy will make people get the WiiU. Or something like Mother 3 translated and released, something along those lines.

Earthbound remake in cellshaded 3D sounds great. They should have been working on that a long time ago.

Nintendo needs exclusives that are actually are in demand and not child centered. The 3ds is largely seen as a child's toy by most. Pokemon, Mario, Zelda, etc are all child centered. The new Sonic even has kiddy looking villains. The 3ds is high tech portable entertainment for kids. Admit it, most kids hanging out at GameStop are there for 3ds games. The 3ds-xl was created for players with larger hands, but it still had the kid friendly red and blue colors (a black version was finally released recently). The price, exclusives, and kid friendly marketing is why the 3ds is a success.

The WiiU on the other hand is hella overpriced, no must have exclusives, and far too dependent on that stupid gimicky game pad.




The WiiU should have launched with a brand new and proper Zelda or Mario. A new Metroid with a good online multiplayer would have been great. Some AAA 3rd party exclusives would have really helped. An improved online infrastructure would be great instead of the half-assed one that exists. Nintendo got lucky with the Wii. IMHO, the SNES was the last truly great Nintendo console.

So to sum things up, this is what Nintendo needs/ needed.

Proper Mario game.
Proper Zelda game.
New "Xeno"title.
Metriod with kick ass multiplayer.
New and revolutionary Wii fit for the fatties and soccer moms.
F-zero multiplayer.
Proper Donkey Kong game.
Proper Crusin' game.
AAA third party exclusives
More Bayonetta-like exclusives that someone else failed to publish like maybe that cancelled Legacy of Kane title.

Bottom line... underpowered, overpriced gimmicky console with no must have titles that the mainstream has not embraced.

Nintendo consoles need to finally stop halfassing 3rd party support. I know not every 3rd party game made its way to both PS3 and 360, but about 90% of them do and have for a very long time.

Its 2013. No one should have to buy a $300 console in the modern era and feel the need to buy a 2nd later on, because the first one sucks so hard on releases. Yet thats exactly what will happen to any fool wasting their money on a Wii U in the future, and will have to buy a PS4 or XBox One later on to enjoy 3rd party franchises.

A solid, longterm, competent library of both 3rd party as well as 1st party support would get gamers to flock to Wii U and take it more seriously. Thats how Wii U needs to be or GTFO.

Fun games I can use a regular controller with.

What would you say about Apple's iPhone strategy then? All businesses do it. Xbox did it even worse, at least the first DS and first 3DS work just fine.

EA isn't even supporting the Wii U so no chance in hell it receives an exclusive Fifa or Madden game. They won't even port Battlefield 4 to it. Nintendo has been in steady decline since the N64 and with the exception of the Wii which capitalized on a good gimmick will continue this decline. They should lose the tablet controller, drop the retail price to $279 and focus on getting parents to buy this system for their kids. The days of this company commanding respect from third party publishers is long gone and will never return. Sticking to carts for N64 has gradually eroded their standing among gamers; it wasn't an immediate decline like Sega but the decline was steady through Gamecube and continues with Wii U. Another big mistake was letting MS obtain Rare since they were key to N64's appeal to older gamers.

If they want some older fans back, they could at least consider new versions of Metroid,Wave Race, F Zero and Cruisin' USA.

Nintendo needs to realize that there fans aren't little kids anymore. They need to start getting into the adult industry, whip out them titties!

How about a new and original IP? I'm pretty fed up with Mario, Zelda and Metroid rehashes.

The 1st thing Nintendo needs to do is open up their online gaming, to be on-par with what the 360 and PS3 have. No more friend codes, and have servers with match-making services. Once they've done that, start emphasizing online play for their existing franchises and release the games that would be best suited for online play.

Examples:

Starfox: Allow 8 player matchups in various scenarios, like ring challenges and fighters vs. fighters.

Pilotwings: Allow players to create custom maps that can be shared on servers and used in online gameplay matches.

F-Zero: Allow players to create custom tracks that can be shared on servers and used in online races.

Mario Party: This series is ideal for online matches. They could even have tournament events.

Metroid Prime: Like Metroid Prime Hunters, this game would be a perfect fit for online matches.

Mario Kart: Allow players to create custom tracks that can be shared on servers and used in online races.

Smash Bros.: 4 player online matches would be a great way to exhibit this unique fighting franchise. Have win/loss record tracking as well.


Games like Battlefield 4 and Madden aren't going to make players take notice to the Wii U. Unique online games that are exclusive to the Wii U could.

How about a game where you play a Nintendo executive, and your job is to oversee the creation of endless Mario Party and Smash Brothers games?
