kind of off topic from the fixing the 32X thing, but is 36 holes any good? Its on sale for a few bucks at the game store i usually drop a few bucks at and i was thinking about whether it was worth it or not.

It's alright if you like golf games. It doesn't quite play as well as PGA Golf or Arnold Palmer on the Genesis, but it looks a bit better. Slow redraws.
I love 36 holes. Great Golf Game! Dude, my problem is this: I bought Forgotten Worlds, the US version, and it comes on like its gonna play, the intro is there, can go to options menu etc, but when I hit game start it goes to this weird cut seen that seems like it might be from the middle of the game where the dudes are talking and then a giant scarab looking dude pops up for a second, the screen flashes and it says game over. No Gameplay, just right to the game over screen! I cleaned it and kept trying but same result every time. I figured I got a bad cart so I bought another and the exact same thing happens!! Am I crazy? I don't want a third copy of it. I'm playing it on a 32x equipped model one genesis. Anybody know anything about this? Maybe I'm just an idiot or something but its driving me crazy!
Sorry, just noticed this is for 32x help.. But while im at it I got a Pro Action Replay, I think the first one, not the plus version with the trainer, an I can't get it to behave! It came with case but no instructions and it seems completely crazy. Theres a switch on the side I can't figure out, and I can't even get to a code screen! Maybe it doesn't like my 32x!! A lot of people don't for some reason :)
First of all, both of those posts where in the wrong thread as neither even come close to having anything to do with 32X trouble. If you thought the 32X could be causing thing, you would have tried removing the 32X to see if the problem persists, right?
Secondly, try holding down the MODE button on your controller as you power on the Genesis. Once it is powered on, let go of the MODE button. Your Genesis now thinks it is a 3 button controller instead of a 6 button. Now try your game.
Sorry, Im not really a computer person. I don't talk in forums, and didn't realise its so strict, but I guess you have to keep it organized or its a mess. Thanks though I'll try that when I get home :)
Alright, here goes...
I have a model 1 Genesis hooked up to a model 1 Sega CD. I have a cord (not an official mixing cable) leading from the headphone jack on the Genesis to the mixing cable jack on the Sega CD. I then have stereo audio cables coming out and going to my TV. Video output is handled through the model 1 monaural AV cable (basically, not RF).
The weird thing is that sounds in the game affect the picture. The image seems to pulse a bit (like localized waves) in time with music and other sound effects. On some games, it doesn't matter very much, but in others with a lot of music or fast-paced sound effects, it's quite constant.
I've found that I can negate this with two different methods. The first is to unplug the improvised mixing cable, which I won't do (I notice a big difference between mono and stereo sound); and the second is to turn down the headphone volume, and turn up the TV volume (what I'm doing now). Obviously, this makes switching to a TV show or anything else that uses the TV speakers very annoying.
Interestingly, moving around the cables exacerbates the problem, indicating that there's some kind of interference, but I haven't been able to isolate the source.
So, what can I do, that I'm not doing already, to fix it? Thanks.
Check for a bad ground. This sounds like a ground loop problem.
Also, if you want to try, connect the headphone jack directly to your TV, and not the mixing port (unless you want to be able to turn down sound effects in game).
*thinks*
Hmm, you know, I've read that the PS3 can cause ground loop problems if you don't use an adapter. That's the only thing in my setup that I can think of that could be the cause, so I guess I'll dig out an adapter from somewhere :)
And I'd rather use the mixing cable than not (both because of sound effects and aesthetics). Is the Sega-issued mixing cable any different from one you might find at Radio Shack?
No different at all.Quote:

I think you'll get a better sound if you get the sound from a stereo system instead from the TV. Unless your TV has some very Cyber sound to it.
My TV supposedly has "Bose" sound :p
Once I finally plunk down the money for a Pelican System Selector Pro (1.0), I'll finally have enough inputs to have my Master System and Genesis hooked up to the AV receiver. I could do it now, I suppose, but it would be awkward and less than ideal.Quote:

I often wonder why the general public is so enamored with Bose. Their sound is NOT good!Quote:
