Don't Zeniths have trouble with some game systems? Also is the Justifier even compatible with that particular game? It is not compatible with every gun game. Another thing I'd suggest is punctuation and capital letters. They really make communicating easier.
I just bought a first gen SegaCD for my Genesis model 1 and it doesn't even try to read CDs. The tray will just open and close over and over until you shut it off. It's not even in there long enough to attempt to read the disk so I don't think it's opening because it can't read the disk or doesn't think there is a disk in there. Really it wouldn't even have time to spin up it's basically shut for half a second and then it opens again.
I bought a 32X but it didn't come with the Genesis model 2 spacer OR the Genesis model 1 to 32X cable. I have the model 2 to 32x video cable so I can either play it on the Genesis model 2 without the spacer or plop it into the Model 1 and not have any video! I heard a rumor that a AT to PS/2 keyboard adapter would work to adapt the video cable for a model 1. I must say by looking at the back of the model 1 and the model 2 video ports it almost sounds possible! Is this BS or does it work? Did the 32X come with both cables? It's nice that it works and all but it would be preferred on the model 1.
Tray close and open switch seem to be broken, or the tray is lose..
If you can't fix it, refund for money back.
I have a few Model 1 and Model 2 Genesis systems and was wondering if there are any tricks/hacks/generic cables that can be used to get composite video out of the systems without trying to find rare Sega cables. Thanks guys.
yea, take apart console, and solder an RCA jack onto the points...
no, AT cable won't work.. just the normal "user doesn't test it, but says it'll magically work" thing...
just use the model 2... you can make good spacers..
The seller answered me:
You have used the MegaCD JAP with the MegaDrvie PAL "switched"(50/60), and it has broken one electric constituant of the printed circuit. Indeed my cousin used a MegaCD JAP with a Sega Megdrive "switched". The MegaCD has directly broken. It was really NOT working anymore. Moreover I read on the forum that people who have swithed theses Megadrive had really bad problems or completly broken there MegaCD JAP . But I have an other friend who has a Mega CD US "swithed" and it works good.
WHAT?! Bullshit!!
buy a DIN connector and solder a cable with RCAs to it...
I was doing some very unscientific audio/video testing with a few of my Genesis models, and I found the audio output of the X'Eye to be a bit better than the output of the Genesis 1. The bass was more punchy on the model one (it was kind of like turning the bass boost option of a stereo on) while the X'Eye had much clearer upper ranges and better stereo separation.Quote:

It is bullshit. Even if you region switched the console, the electronics are EXACTLY the same.
If you paid by PayPal, fight hard.
The expansion connector is very universal. As long as you used a power adapter designed for your voltage and frequency, and outputs 9v DC with the correct polarity (NO AC OUTPUTTING ADAPTERS LIKE THAT FROM NINTENDO!), you WILL be fine, unless the console was broken already.
Expansion connector pinout is the same across region. ;)
I'd just like to thank Evildragon and everyone who has contributed to this thread. I picked up a SCD2 (model 4102) at a flea market for $5 - it was DOA (no power light, no access light). As Evildragon suggested, I replaced the 2.5A fuse (F302 or F306 or something).
I actually took the fuse from another dead SCD2 (model 4102a) I had - the one with the white brick fuse underneath the circuit board - by desoldering it. I clipped off the dead fuse from the other board, and then soldered-in the replacement fuse, which totally worked like a charm. If anyone needs clarification on how to do this, just reply to this thread - it doesn't take a lot of soldering skill to do. Now I have a working SCD2 ... I loaded up Sewer Shark and it purred like a kitten.
