He is a good actor, but I think he is an awful choice for Batman.
I already thought Batman was cheesy, this is just too funny.
Now I am hoping for Jason Mews as Robin.

Honestly pretty much anyone can be Batman the way the movies often treat the character. I don't expect there to be a whole lot of Bruce Wayne in the film, but who knows?
After Man of Steel I'm pretty ambivalent towards this anyway.
It could surprise us though. Everyone scoffed at Michael Keaton as Batman in '89 and that worked out well.
I bet Kevin Smith is behind this, if Affleck ruins Batman like he ruined DareDevil I'm coming after you Smith!
Personal Opinion : This guy is too scruffy to be Batman, even if he shaves off his 5o clock shadow he's still scruffy,
he's just got that scruffy kinda actor thing going on, like pretty much.. all the male characters in video games these days.
we need someone who doesn't have that scruffy feel to him, someone dare I say.. nazi like in his jaw appearance.

Hah, Johnny Depp would have been a terrible joker. I swear that guy gets cast for the weirdest roles but always has the same ambiguously gay/drunk swagger. Heath Ledger's joker was basically Brandon Lee's Crow with green hair, if it weren't for the writers implying he was the genius behind all of the events of Dark Knight I would have pegged Ledger's interpretation more "Trickster" than Joker.
And that's pretty much the same problem that Affleck has, Affleck always comes across as a douchebag in every movie he does.Quote:

I don't see what the big deal is, guys. Personally, I think EVERY washed-up actor in Hollywood should have a turn playing Batman. After Ben Affleck, I think Billy Zane should have a turn. Then Christian Slater. Then maybe Treat Williams, and perhaps even Rick Moranis.
This is a good thing, guys. A good thing.
I actually like Affleck, but I hated his casting as Daredevil, and I hate his casting as Batman even worse. Amusingly, though not the ideal pick, his running mate Damon would have at least been a better choice in both cases.
Not sure who they should get besides Affleck, but the only pick that would have been worse is Nicolas Cage...
Why Kevin Conroy was never cast for the live action role is seriously beyond me. One "300 style" workout regime and that dude in the batsuit would make everybody crap their pants and confess everything they ever did wrong.

That said, I hope they try to pull off a more cloth looking Batsuit this time. I'm tired of the foam rubber or real rubber look, and I really hope they don't go the Armored beefcake route that the Arkham games went. In the meantime, this ought to cheer me up.

Also, not that I think petitions matter at all, but here is one to remove Affleck from the role of Batman. Whoever used Aftereffects or whatever to make those Superman Doomsday shorts on Youtube ought to take Daredevil footage and overlay the bat suit, that's pretty much what we're going to get. Butt-chin man!

If I am forced to give Affleck a chance as Batman I certainly will, especially when it is a "World Finest" or "Dark Knight Returns" crossover. He could pull it off, I mean it is just acting after all. I'd let some anonymous nobody take a stab at it before Affleck though.
By all means though, somebody show me something from him recently that can give me hope. Somebody did that for whatsherbutt playing Catwoman, but it was some teenieboppers getting nekkid flick and I couldn't watch that in front of the kiddo, or at all actually.
Oh, yeah, the black Catwoman? That was just a tad less worse than the black Thor (seriously, Norse mythology and black actors????)...
Wait, what are we talking about now? I wasn't talking about the original TV series Catwomen. What show had a black Thor? That would be as interesting idea as the new Thor movie's black Heimdall to me.
Honestly, I've liked Affleck's work as of late, especially his last 2 directorial efforts, 'The Town' and 'Argo' (which while probably a little overrated, was still a really good flick), but I just can't see him as Batman. Bruckheimer aside, on paper, Clooney makes a better caped crusader than Affleck.
I thought Bale was good in the role and I loved Keaton as the Dark Knight. Affleck just isn't suited for super hero roles. He has his talents, but action star just isn't one of them. I don't foresee this going well for either him or the Batman franchise as a whole.
