All you do is keep jamming right on the d-pad to advance the stage and periodically jump to attack enemies/collect some random box item that appears, eventually fighting a floating Robotnik at the end of the level by jamming right on the d-pad and pressing jump. The most entertaining part of this Sonic 3 LCD experience was prying open the battery compartment to find that the batteries had exploded years ago and congealed into a toxic dust.
