Sounds like it could be good. Just have to wait and see what happens. Putting some new things while having some similar concepts is a good idea on their part.
This game actually looks like it could be quite good.
But would it kill them to throw up a "2" on the title? All these sequels with the same title as the original game are annoying.
I completely agree with j_factor. I think the reason they do that is so that new players coming into the game world won't feel like they need to have played the older versions just to understand the new game, thus resulting in trillions more copies sold, more cash in the executive's pockets and therefore more cocaine can be purchased. It's all about the cocaine.
I totally thought of that control scheme first, Sega. :p
That said, I'm not bitter enough to not buy it. I'm actually pretty excited for this.
Looks good. The control scheme seems to borrow from FPS schemes, no? Move with your left hand, shoot with your right.
Yeah, you can swing the Wii remote around to fire in any direction. It's kind of Robotron-esq.
It barely looks any better than AS on the Sega Classics Collection, so I hope the control saves it.

They should be able to polish it up in two months. I assumed that it was early, but those were the only screens around so...
If they can clean up the visuals and make the gameplay tight, this might be a winner.
I saw the ads for this my game magazines and it prompted me to play the original arcade version. Very fun, if a bit short. I hope this game manages to live up to everyones expectations. I hope to get a Wii for Christmas. If this turns out okay, I might just buy it...
