Shout Out to Musicians / Chiptune Composers / Sound Designers
Howdy all, I'm just looking to 'get into the scene' a bit and try to be a bit more social with my favorite hobby / passion - music. Specifically retro-flavored stuff. If there's anyone around here looking to hook up to collaborate, give lessons, talk shop, swap tricks, or generally just 'jam', I'm reaching out. Honestly, it's kind of lonely in my own little musical world, and I'd like to bump into people who are near or above my skill level to feed off of and learn from/homogenize with. To describe myself, I'm a pretty decent guitarist (fact), a decent songwriter (opinion) and pianist (barely). I have a strange combination of grunge/metal, early-nineties video game music and folky-Elliott Smith-type stuff flowing through my musical veins. I write a lot, and have a variety of flavors and tunes on my
Soundcloud Page,
but if I had to show someone one piece that I've done to strut my stuff, it'd probably be this....
Patrick Clayton Working - Sherman Park (cover)
A mellow, dramatic cover of Sherman Park from River City Ransom :)
Mostly electronic, but has some actual guitar and bass in there too...
I'm not quite finished (life always gets in the way), but have most of a degree in audio engineering (recording and live sound) and 'formal' electronic music classes under my belt. I do most of my work in FLstudio for ease of workflow, but I have quite a bit of experience in Protools, Logic, Reason and Sonar.
Anyhoo, that's my deal, if anyone's interested in buddying up, collaborating, or just talking and swapping tunes, let me know!
