it looks like a nessified steambox
it looks like a nessified steambox
Sounds like bullshit :p.
Will it also come with a microwave oven?
I'm trying to put myself in the heads of people who actually believed this, and I'm struggling with it. Apple can tack on "s" to the end of the name of an iPhone and nobody is confused. Samsung has put out phones called Galaxy with many suffixes. I don't sense much confusion over the Xbox One's name either.
Maybe the real issue is that its appearance is too similar to a Wii - at least on the box or on TV, where you can't really tell it's larger. I could see someone looking at the box, and maybe thinking he's seeing the GamePad next to a Wii, and that the price is for the GamePad only. Perhaps a different form factor would have helped distinguish it.
^ is possible ro build a pc in a nes box
doubt it will be a top of the range gaming pc though but it can be a steam box http://www.overclock.net/t/1332383/m...l-nes-computer
Why not build a nesputer:
http://www.instructables.com/id/Buil...ntendo-NES-PC/
I built one a few years back (which has since been sold), so I can only imagine what power they can pack into a mini-ITX board these days..
^ what you mean like this ? >> http://www.overclock.net/t/1332383/m...l-nes-computer
well better save then sorry
you dont want to fry your hard work
If I were to use any console as a model, it would be the Saturn. That's my favorite from an appearance standpoint.
a dead one i hope

The press is giving the Nintendo a Sega treatment and it doesn't look like it will have a happy end.
^ its not quite like sega is it ?
it took sega 5 years of bad decisions after bad decision and wasting their money before they were crushed by the sony and ps2 juggernaut
and even then sega was financially spent and bleeding money
nintendo by contrast just came off several years of hugely profitable consoles the wii and the ds
yes they posted a third loss but for the time being nintendo is ina better position to soak it up
they are not nearly in such bad financial shape as sega was
course if this keeps up
they are in far worse situation than sega because nintendo doesn't have the vision and passion that sega had to create the most incredible hardware and software with the dreamcast. let's not forget nintendo is basically on a downward trend ever since the n64. so there is no reason at all to expect any kind of resurgence, which they REALLY need
Hey, did you guys hear?!
Wii U is dead!

long live wii three ?
( tell me somebody gets that joke )
This thing is still too highly priced -- £270 on Amazon for the console with two Mario games (yawn) and a measly 32gb?! No wonder this thing is tanking.
1.
nintendo stock that has recently dropped has been rising very fast
source

2.
the rumour that ea says nintendo is dead turns to be false
first prove is fifa 14 is on 3ds
second prove is by peter moore himself
http://nintendoeverything.com/peter-...will-be-to-ea/
3. meanwhile nin is still selling 3ds back to back
4. according to sources nin is planning a drop of price to 200 euros really soon at the time mk8 is out.
AT the jackal
nintendo is giving 32gb for a reason. you will probably use it for dlc or small indie games. not too forget you can use your own HD
wii u is mainly pro boxed games.
and you are also confused and not known to the fact that wii u doesnt use install data like ps3 xbox360 ps4
therefor als you will probably use it for is updates dlc and your saves. to me that is fine. i see you are looking at amazon. LOL
that is not really the only source on mother earth.
wii u will do fine and we should stop pretending being so called scholars of financial statistics. play the game you like and chill have a popcorn.
at knuckleduster without quoting your sayings but you can talk all the way untill you reach your ass with your knuckles. but you clearly show no signs of a nintendo fan, your a pc fan wether you say yes or no.
when i steal im a thief
when i kill im a murderer
thats how you get stamped in life. you cant say your a nintendo fan and bash it completely and talk good about pc.
so i judge you accordingly.
you are a pc fan. and thats it.
32gb is a pathetic amount for a premium package - I could and WOULD use it up in the first week if I owned one. For nearly £300, they should of included at least a 250gb; not a SDHC worth of flash memory.
As for more sources, here's some:
Tesco: Premium Packs go for £240. £30 cheaper than Amazon, but they don't sell the same pack Amazon did. Amazon sell the packs they sell at £220; 20 cheaper. Still too expensive when compared to the 360 & PS3 have and offer.
Play.com: Premium packs go for £240; again, just the base units with Nintendo Land only.
Game.co.uk: Want £230 for it. Again the Nintendo Land pack.
Argos: Usually sold for £299.99, on deal at the moment for £170. Once the sale is over, it's back to £300.
ToysRUs: Used to go for £290, now £240.
Sorry an average going price of £250 for a console with one junk throwable game, with just 32gb storage is ludicrous when I can spend the exact same amount (or much less) on a PS3 or 360 and get more bang for my buck.
I could buy, say get a PS3 with a 500gb HDD and GTA V packaged in( a good game!) or a 360, with say, a 250gb 360 with bundled wireless controller. Both would cost me £200. Much better offerings.
Nintendo need to shape up. Ditch the stupid controller no wants, drop the prices and do better bundles.
32GB of storage is shit.
Like, I really don't see why they included so little, even some 'indie'/downloadable games reach 3-4GB easy, the Xbox 360 had at least 20GB of storage back in 2005.
inb4 just use an external hd
Because it doesn't use a HDD, it uses flash to keep the console size down. While they could have probably doubled it to 64GB and not have taken too much of a hit in cost, anything above that would start to get pricey fast.
You can however use an External HDD if you need that space.
Denial.
Woah, really?! Are you sure? No. Really?! :?Quote:

Damn, I wish you would have enlightened me sooner! It would have saved me from spending thousands of dollars on Nintendo!
I like Nintendo, but I don't owe them shit. I don't like the Wii U and what Nintendo is doing to itself to support the Wii U.
What absolutely no one can say is that Semmie isn't tenacious.
The problem is that anyone who plans to use the console the way Nintendo intends is going to buy a lot of stuff off the VC or other digital sales. 32gb is nothing, and the expense of an external HD is very inconvenient and makes the console less attractive than the competition, since you're spending more or less the same amount of money. Moreover, I don't even think the very audience Nintendo was counting on (casuals) even has the slightest clue about buying and connecting an external HDD to their WiiU. Most probably aren't even aware that they have the option.
Oh wait I know why they're using SSD storage, for faster loading times!!! just like N64 cartridges, and GameCube miniDVDs!!! Nintendo has always been prioritizing loading speeds higher than storage space, cause yes they know whats more important.
I wouldn't say so. A 32GB card goes for around $20, but you can get 500GB of HDD space for around $50. And with SD cards you'd be swapping them out instead of having everything stored in one place.
They should have made the console about a half inch taller and included an internal HDD port, even if they would not have actually included a drive. It would have allowed you to add a drive without bottlenecking its speed as the USB 2.0 ports do, and it would have kept the aesthetics nice.
dc didnt have it either. what is the shit about storage all of a sudden. wasnt it that i heard everybody crying here that digital gaming was bad? and now that most of it is boxed on nin we cry
LOL
DC didn't have it in 1999, before you could purchase games online and store it on the hard drive. I constantly run out of room on my Wii and when I put VC games on my SD card I can't launch them because there isn't any room on the Wii internal storage.
You can't release/maintain a console in this day and age without decent storage space available for downloadable games and DLC.
Plus 32gb is a shit offer when Microsoft give you like 500gb with the Xbox 360.
My Wii is modded with with the home brew channel and an external had drive with tons of games on it. The only reason I have a Wii is because of the homebrew channel and a few select retail games.
http://www.iowascribe.com/uploads/6/...26612_orig.jpg
the dreamcast didnt need any extra storage beyond the 128 kb on a vms
because it didnt had dlc or downlodable games all it provided was online play nothing else
all dreamcast games were availabel on physical media and physical media only
but lets not let a little thing like reality stand in the way of delusions huh ?
32 gig is a pitful amount of space my five year old 360 has more then that
