What do you guys think of the Sonic series and direction?

Missed this earlier. Those complaints had little to do Shadow being a cartoon animal and more to do with it not fitting the tone of the franchise. No one complains about those other ones because the guns aren't horribly out of place.

They're pretty great but more because of all of the other Sega characters and references than because of Sonic. We probably owe more to Sumo Digital for their quality than Sega though.

That, and they seem to have a similar knack for picking out studios(Sumo Digital) to make such games.

Lost World IMO feels like it may as well actually have been made by Nintendo and falls flat due to the lack of alt.characters and the excessively simple graphics. Not exactly bad (at least on WiiU), but completely alien to Sonic.

despite the fact that he is not on a sega console anymore. but i love all the games even sonic 06

sonic 06 on a jailbroken ps3 mysteriously loads faster and has no bugs. increasingly less glitches
no joke guys try it out yourself. im not a professor of consoles but i think the reason is that loading is faster cause the game is on hard drive. and the levels load during gameplay and by putting it on hd it loads faster which causes less glitches such as hidden pitfalls

I've pretty much given up on Sonic. I just wish Sega made a 16-bot sequel to Sonic 3. It would be really cool to see.

I....... had a feeling a comment like this would come up. Though, I am still interested in your guys take on Sega of Japan since it's been noted they have a heavy influence on Sonic, and the company as well. Maybe I should make a thread just about that, but I kinda wanted it to be a joing thread because of that overall influence.

I noticed another guy said there should be a Sonic sub-forum, but might I suggest sub-forums for other Sega games to? I mean, Sonic is my favorite series, but if yall can tell by my sig, I haven't forgotten the other Sega heroes as well, and I actually try t keep up with Sega's titles. I actually got a copy of Shinobi for the 3DS, finally. :D

Alex Kidd's slower gameplay would work in 3D much better than Sonic does.

I don't see it happening though.

You just happened to get that comment because it seems that every other week some noob walks in here and decides that this is the best topic to discuss (no offense).

There are really only so many times one can hear "I like older Sonic and not the newer games" or "I don't mind the newer games" or "Maybe SEGA should do this with Sonic".

I understand Sonic is the most popular franchise/character, but this is a community where we celebrate *all of SEGA* (good or bad). People always "talking Sonic" pretty much just says that the only thing SEGA can anymore is shit out more Sonic games.

There's not enough talk about the other games to warrant an entire sub-forum, while a Sonic Trash forum to dump all the Sonic shit in would be most beneficial to the community.

Despite Sonic being my favorite series, this saddens me. Of course, we also have Sega of Japan to thanks for some of this....

Me too, but Sonic has been whored out so much that I find his games to be utterly repulsive these days.
They just lost direction and focused too much on making Sonic cool instead of fun.
