Supergrafx version is all graphics, gameplay isn't even close to the MD version.

Yeah, I've heard various options on that, but the general consensus is that the Genesis version is probably closest. As far as I'm concerned it doesn't count unless it's on a Genesis arcade stick and with only 1 credit anyway, that being said, having Sega port the game themselves is more of a comforting situation, as they would know how best to port an arcade game to their own console. Arcade pacing, look, and feel are of the utmost importance here.
Agreed. After playing the Genesis version of Ghouls N Ghosts so much that I could beat it without dieing (and without invincibility) I was also able to beat the Arcade game the exact same way. The SuperGrafx game is nowhere near that close in gameplay. I envy those who own it and a SuperGrafx, the game is just not that compelling.
That's just SMS quality graphics.

There are more cases of SMS sprites looking "near 16-bit" than not.
For all the people who fight their brain's natural common sense and and imagine the PC Engine to be an NES with a few extra colors, all because they picked up a factoid which they believe to be super secret... there actually is an 8-bit gen console that delivers near (or at times on par) 16-bit quality aesthetics. At this point though, those types of people likely haven't heard of the SMS and never will.
Great picture.
Hey hey hey hey HEY!
Where's the pic's of Mickey Mouse Castle of Illusion?
Was the SMS the first console with 4-bit tiles/sprites?
The sprites in the SMS Mickey games are great, but totally a different style compared to the Genesis version. It was one of the first ones I checked. There are many more shared games with similar looking sprites, but it would be a major undertaking putting it all together.
Does anybody think early Genesis titles sometimes have more realistic/better graphics than later genesis games ? Like the ROS waterfall level, rocks/mountains in background look sort of real, the intro screen he looks realistic, like better use of colors even strider looks serious but later genesis games kind of look cartoony like sor3 and stuff.

Revenge of Shinobi's waterfall is easily the best video game waterfall of all time, OF ALL TIME! Everything else is just a special effect.
