eBay sellers suddenly think it's made of gold.

I suppose I should state I'm willing to spend 50-55 US dollars (shipping included) for a complete Mega Turrican. Trying to buy stuff on eBay at a reasonable price is like trying to win the lottery, particularly if the thing in question is even remotely uncommon or desirable.
This and Mega Bomberman are officially off of my list because of ebayers. I have even given up finding a box and manual for MUSHA, which I have cart only, because of this horrible gaming bubble.
To avoid the crappy cardboard US packaging and also to get it at a reasonable price I ended up getting the European Mega Bomberman.Quote:

You'll get it dude, just be patient. That's how I've gotten some of my games. You just gotta wait for that "one" to pop up and trust me....it will.
I highly recommend getting a US mailbox if you don't live too far from the border, it's well worth it - saves money, stuff isn't stuck in customs for two weeks and it gives you access to all the US online stores.Quote:

One way to beat ebay greed is to search on misspelled auction titles. Try searching on "Mega Turrigan" or "Meka Turrican". I have won auctions that no one else ever saw due to typos.
That happens less and less often now, as eBay will alert sellers to typos during the listing process multiple times for virtually all games.
I've been trying to get a good deal on a CIB Mega Turrican for a while. A lot of sellers don't even want to ship to Canada. It's slightly more expensive, but not ludicrously more on an item the size and weight of a CIB Genesis game. The ones that do want an arm and a leg for the game, and it's just not worth what they want.
Mega Bomberman cib isn't still that pricy.
I have a copy of Mega Turrican, that I have been DYING to get the manual for. The artwork insert and and case are in like new condition. I could have said the same for the game but it was a little hole on top of the label which has been annoying me for some time now.
One I find one with a perfect label, I 'll go and sell this one.
Try some garage sales also. This guy finds some decent stuff for next to nothing in price. He tends to come out on top most of the time when gettin is good.

I just bought a loose cart for twenty-something last year. Im happy enough with that.
You have to go out every week to garage sales in order to even out. You don't really get to see that in these videos. Its always hit and miss because a lot of garage sales just has crap. I think my best year was 2 years ago where I got a Nomad for $5.Quote:

The reason there are so many ridiculous asking prices on eBay, is because too many people don't understand the difference between adking prices, sold prices and just as important: unsold prices. Games failing to sell at any given price are as much an indicator of the "going rate" as sold prices. Even when a games occasionally sells for s ridiculous high price, it's more telling if it failed to sell at that price dozens of times before and after.
On eBay Mega Bomberman sells for:
Loose: $15 shipped
With box: $30
Complete: $40
Those prices shipped to Canada, usually from the U.S.
