Jackal as in the Konami game, right? If I had a PC Engine, I would happily test for you.
Yeah, Konami game. I've already beat it and did a bunch if play testing on emulator, but I need some real system testing (other than myself). It's for flashcard too, not CD. I also have 2 player via multi-tap support, so testing that aspect would be great if people can.
I'm game (ehehe, snort). I will log some time in during the next week and PM if I find anything goofy.
How big is the ROM ? It can give me the incentive to finally make the ROM socket in the TG16 functional.
145k. So probably a 256k rom.
Sure, just let me know. I could probably throw in a cheap hucard for free, so you can test it the system out. This is just one phase of the beta testing. I had plans to hack the game for upgrades, so I'll still need testing for that kind of stuffs.Quote:
Wow, I might take you up on that! How long do you think the beta testing will be? Or is that a dumb question? What do I know, I'm not a programmer (yet).
So far it runs fine. I'm not sure what exactly to look for so I'll just post what I noticed. A black line appears on the ground very occasionally, once the screen scrolls it goes away. It could be a level loading glitch or something? Also, are the tank and turret explosions supposed to be a beep instead of an explosion sound? The grenade is has a very high pitched beep effect as well. I'm in level two and will see how far I can get in one play.
Thanks Sheath. Yeah, those are known, but I appreciate all feedback. Also, the game is harder - simply because there isn't any slowdown that's in the NES version. Even in two player mode, I didn't see any (though I didn't play too far in 2 player mode).
Hey, I love your past conversions! I have a TG-16 and Turbo Everdrive. I tested and posted results over on PCEngineFX.com
I'll try it on my SGX later today. I love all these old conversions - I have my SGX and no incentive to get an NES, so conversions of some of the best games suits me better.
Thanks for the feedback, Greg2600 (saw it over there at the forums, a few minutes ago).
Chilly Willy: Cool :D I'm tracing through the original NES rom with a CDL and logger. I'm hoping to hack the original routines and replace them with PCE capable ones (new sound engine, new graphics, sprites, etc). I'll need to find a capable chiptune artist to redo the musics though
