And Bangai-O. That's the only one that bothers me.

Gran Turismo was sold as "the real driving simulator" and supposedly had "photo-realistic graphics".
IMO it was an arcade racing with some funny fake texture reflections and ugly tracks.
was about as real as mario kart
it wowed people with good graphics for the time and bored them with grinding over boring tracks
GT 5 runs at 60fps its the replays that run at 30fps in GT5 .Quote:
GT1/2/5 don't run at 60 FPS
Yes we know but at the time not many people had TV's that couple handle 480p or above, hence why the VGA mode was a GOD send to DC owners and something that SONY,MS and NCL should have offered with then consoles at the time.Quote:
And using Component you can also get 480p.
Screenshots can't show stuff like AI or physics. Riddick is by far the most impressive game imoQuote:
So me a screenshot that has as much geometric detail
Of course it is , hell AM#2 even used the term 'Magic Weather' for F355 when all that would have would alter the time of day. Having a wet looking track is the result of rainQuote:
Those aren't weather effects.
Where ? I've never seen PD come out and say how many Polygons each car uses in GT 3/4 and I'm not being clever, just haven't.Quote:
The car model numbers are confirmed by Polyphony Digital.
It doesn't it just assumes it does and it never confirmed or deniend by BC. In a UK mag about the making of PGR 2 with former members of team it's goes in to great detail on the development and model packages used and so on and the 10,000 fig isn't quite correctQuote:
This article confirms the 10k polgyons per car count for PGR2:
This is all pretty funny. All we're doing is using racing games to compare the systems.
Then when comparing PS3 vs 360, all we can use is FPS games to compare the systems.
Makes me miss the early 2000's.
VGA > Component?
I don't want this to go to far, so I'll put it like this:
You can go on thinking that ps2=flaming 💩 in a dumpster, covered by more 💩 and a smelly hobo
And that Dc was actually what was in the ark of the covenant, and that Dc could have stopped Chernobyl and won the war for Hitler.
And I'll keep thinking that they are basically matched in terms of graphics and gameplay.
Deal?
No dice.

That Dreamcast Stand ad is pretty funny, but even then when it comes to actual libaries (the thing that matters instead of trivial shit like polygon counts), the PS2 blows the DC out of the water.
