Factor 5 were european two, and they knew how to make awesome games during the 16 bit era, Core were hit and miss (mostly miss), and Rare is the overrated group responsible for digitised 3D mania. The Bitmap Bros also struck gold twice, and horse manure all the other times. I still don't know what kind of mine has gold and horse manure in it...
Psygnosis seems to have been mainly a publisher. Most games attributed to them were published, not developed, by them.
Let's also not forget developer like Sensible Software (Sensible Soccer, Cannon Fodder), The Bitmap Brothers (Speedball 2, The Chaos Engine), Codemasters (Micro Machines 2) and Team 17 (Worms), who had success on consoles but originated in the home computer scene.
Oh, almost forgot to add one of my favorite games from back in the day:
- North & South: Comic-style strategy game with Arcade-Style Fight sequences. Based on a french Comic about the American Civil War ("The Blue Boys") and made by french developer Infogrames (best known for "Alone in the Dark"). The game is a bit on the easy side, and the 2-player mode suffers from a design flaw - only one player can use a Joystick, the other has to Play with the Keyboard - but nevertheless it's a lot of fun. There are several Ports (including one for the NES), but the Amiga-Version is by far the best.
Core made a few good games and a whole bunch of games that we're awful, they made Impossamole and that game is dreadfully designed and just tedious as all hell to play through.
Psygnosis merely published Shadow of the Beast and it was developed by Reflections so I stand corrected as publishing that game was a great idea, even if it was awful.
Bitmap Brothers we're decent, Xenon is awful and I still don't know why people like it.
Rare are a big deal if you also count Ultimate Play The Game
Psygnosis also published many games created by DMA Design, like Lemmings for example. DMA later went on to create a little Top-down sandbox style crime game called "Grand Theft Auto". When they made GTA3, they decided to change their name...
Yep, basically, Psygnosis was the original Publisher of the Studio that's nowadays known as Rockstar Games (Rockstar North, to be exact).
Also, between 1988 and 1995, scotland-based DMA aka Rockstar North developed primarily Amiga games: Blood Money, Lemmings 1 & 2, or Walker for example.
/edit: By the Way, developer-wise, Psygnosis was also responsible for the WipEout-Series.
I believe Reflections did SOTB.Quote:

I'll add Hired Guns, and Walker by DMA design, unless someone already mentioned them. And Putty (System 3). Good lists from you and Kamahl dude, you guys certainly covered some good ones. I was going to suggest the gory Moonstone, but I see someone already beat me to it.
Team 17 games were technically excellent, but I have to admit Alien Breed did nothing for me, nor Assassin and the less said about Project X the better. The only one I liked of theirs was Super Frog. The game was endorsed by Lucozade (a glucose beverage traditionally drunk when you have a sick tummy, for those that don't know).
I seem to remember a choplifter type game called Apocalypse as well, pretty sure that was worth looking into.
You should message KimbleJustice. He's an encyclopedia of everything Amiga. He probably hasn't seen your thread.
That's kind of the problem, people expecting "console-style" games or direct equivalents of Japanese games from European developers. They were different cultures and excelled in different areas. There was nothing from Japan quite like Out of this World, Dreamweb, Hunter, Ecco, etc..
Most of my Amiga favourites have been mentioned already but one of the more overlooked gems is Super Obliteration. It's like Buster Bros. meets Asteroids.
I forgot about Putty, that was a good game too.
Did anyone mention Virocop?
ugh, just go away hater. amiga's library is crammed with quality. go play pirates!, civilization, sensible soccer, flashback, it came from the desert, monkey island, beneath a steel sky, pinball fantasies, pinball dreams, turrican, another world, ports of call, lost dutchman mine, colonization, battlechess, indiana jones, settlers, cannon fodder, lemmings, syndicate, loom, battle squadron, sherman, dune, railroad tycoon etc etc etc etc

109% Amiga Computing rating! Bonus points that it's got modern ports. Please, for goodness sakes buy it! The developers would be most appreciative!
I've been playing it lately... I should consider writing another article, perhaps! Over the many years, I've come to regret, perhaps even loave my Sega-16 review of the Mega Drive edition (I've even considered getting any personal details of mine detached from my review... I am that ashamed!). Not only have my opinions changed on that one, the Amiga version is even better.
A most enjoyable game! I strongly recommend it! I do wish it supported some form of LAN multiplayer, or two mice at once... but... well, you're scoping for Amiga games anyway! ;)
