Couldn't resist.
:opa: Contrary to popular belief, the 32X spacer for the CDX...
...is not needed. I don't know why Sega kept telling me that it is needed. :t:
My Mom and all of my aunts and uncles just told me last week that the 32X Spacer was needed for the CDX. Ah popular culture and its lies.

You know what else you don't need to play games? Feet, testicles, legs, hair, a nose, a tongue, fingernails, knee caps, a car, a family, a life, a taco....
when i first got a model 1 sega CD, i recall reading that if i didn't use that metal plate separator thing, my house would burn down or something
got another one in 2012, again hooked into a model 1 genny, but no metal this time...livin' on the edge
I don't care about the join date. It's all the text speech "individuality", meaningless thread titles with no capital letters or punctuation, and opinions stated as fact in a very self assertive way that has flooded the forum since last year. This stupid forum software won't even let me properly killfile all of that junk, so I still see the misspelled meaningless all lower case thread titles and walls of "You have this moron on your ignore list" instead of the meaningful/mindful posts that are actually worth reading.
I always thought those spacers were only ever needed for stability. So that if you got sloppy inserting/removing a cart it wouldn't like snap your game PCB off in the cartslot.
^ is that even possible ?
those pcb's look rather sturdy and it woudl take a lot of force to actually snap one deliberatley let alone by accident
^That's what I'm thinking. I think the reason why people keep saying "BTW, you need that spacer, otherwise it won't fit in a Mega Drive 2/Genesis 2" are doing it just to pad the value of their complete ones up a bit more.
What really grinds my gears though, is all of the ones missing their Sonic & Knuckles-like dust covers. Like seriously, you have to break that shit off. And why the fuck are people doing that to all of the Sonic & Knuckles carts to begin with? Looks horrendous.
.... These newbies probably can't triforce either
I'm sure there are a lot of factors involved in the need for the spacer, but the top two are probably stability and aesthetics. It's also much easier to make one product and include a piece of plastic to make it fit snugger on different versions than making multiple hardware versions.
Sheath is Sega-16's resident Don Rickles. I can picture him pacing in front of Ninsega and Kitsune Night going off.

I was thinking more on Babylon 5 Season 3 Ep 5 "Voices of Authority", but I can't post a clip now because all of the online sources require payment. The quote I am thinking of:
Capt. John Sheridan: And, uh, when exactly did all this happen?
Julie Musante:When we rewrote the dictionary.
Back then this seemed like such a clearly bad idea, rewriting the dictionary. It was the end of the world if we even thought about it. Here I am trying to teach the kiddo at least two languages aside from our oddity that is American English knowing full well that everybody is going to change the meaning and spelling of those words by the time he learns them. It is fan-freaking tastic.
The Sega CD 1 manual only states that the slide plate provides an RF shield between the Genesis and Sega CD. I have noticed that without the large plate and its clips that attach to the Sega CD the system will more frequently fail to load carts or boot the Sega CD side without unplugging/replugging the Genesis and Sega CD cart port. With the plate it seems to last a lot longer before needing to be reset like that.
Okay, so now I know why it would be highly recommended, but not necessarily required.
I was playing Wonder Boy III, which utilizes the giant pause button as an equipment screen of sorts. Pressing that button without support moves the whole cartridge, which sometimes results in the black screen of death.
How many insults and troll posts in a row are required in order to get the moderation activated in this forum?
^ may help if he is reported
I've got one of those Tototek converters in a Forgotten Worlds cart.

Isn't Vector's ban only temporary?
