I'm wondering how do you determine which games are worth your time? Sometimes you may like something someone else doesn't or dislike their reccomendation, but it's hard to really predict. What's a good way of deciding this when you have so many games at your fingertips but not enough time to get into them all at once?

I check if the game is the whole package (art, music, gameplay) by seeing a quick video and reading about it a bit. I play it a bit to see if it's something I might enjoy. If it is, I give the proper time on a later date that I can.
Free mobile games arent really worth the time. Tons of ads displayed and just not worth it. There was something I downloaded for free called Sonic CD Lite where you got 2-3 levels and that was it. Have to pay 3 bucks for the full version. I had some free Iron Man game that sucked and some King Kong game that lagged liked crazy. All crap.
I have over 400 games in my backlog. I don't even care if they're worth my time.
I pick them out randomly. I have been known to get interested in something online, go to buy the game, and discover I already own it. Sales and bundles kick ass at doing that.

I solved this age old question by getting rid of excess games.
I'll often be playing a game and thinking about another, I've got too many to really be able to sit and really play. Having a Mega EverDrive really does help though, not having those childhood days where you really could sink a whole day into trying to beat a troublesome title just demands being able to save your progress for another day. I've had to be strict though, I only save at the end of levels. It does dilute the experience somewhat, but having a job / life / responsibilities makes this inevitable.
One thing for which I often tell myself off is continually playing an old favourite through to completion just because I can, and not getting into that new one I just got.

That's why I don't have games on Steam or PSN. I still have physical copies of my games.

Creating a category is the best you can do. I have one called "extraneous" for this reason. It also helps for games with duplicated entries for Mac versions (like Civ 4).Quote:

For how I choose them... depends. I may look at my collection and decide "I wanna play that", or something may remind me of it. I just really wanted to play a bunch of bioware RPG's a bit ago, so went through all those I owned.
Right now I only have a back catalog of like 5 games I have not completely beaten. I try not ot pick up a game "just" because it's on sale. Even if it's a good price, I'm not going to get it just because.
For new games... as noted, I usually don't buy stuff when it is just released. Gives me time to look at what reviews have to say about it, look at real gameplay video's, etc for the game. Then I can decide if I want it or not, and if I think it's worth getting sooner, or waiting till the price drops a lot more.
I always wanted to eventually play and beat every single game I own (which should be at least 800 by now); but I know that's an impossibility.
Now I have a list (in my mind) of games I really do want to play and finish (it's about 250 games). That's what I go by nowadays (and that's still a long ways from now; and the list itself ever growing).
What ever isn't complete shit on PS+ so, not much.
