Anyway, here's a list of stereotypes:

BC is a liberal cesspool of pothead neckbeards.

Alberta/Saskatchewan is where blue collar workers from all over the country go to buy big trucks and belittle the French in Quebec.

Manitoba is a cold wasteland nobody wants to be live in.

Ontario wants to be the center of the universe in Canada and in many ways it still is.

Quebec is like a spoiled child that self harms "Give me a shiny new toy, or I will cut myself!" or more like "Give us everything we want on our own terms or we will separate and destroy ourselves!"

Maritimes is a cross between Detroit and Florida. Retirement homes, everybody is ancient, retired, or young and too lazy to work, not that there are any jobs there anyway.

No bagged milk on the west coast, and maple syrup isn't a popular thing here. The idea of putting it in snow is completely foreign to me.

I was hoping for some more classic gaming examples to show up but I guess there aren't many well known ones. The first ones I remember encountering were Montreal appearing in Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? and in Rampage. All the cities look generic in Rampage but I still liked the inclusion. Skitchin' had a good example of Vancouver with BC Place and Harbour Centre being recognizable.

The only instance I remember of a Clear Canadian reference ( Quebecer Actually ) in a game is the Character J.P ''La Malice'' Viau in Jagged Alliance 2. Which is somewhat classic ( 1999 ). Sure helps that the devs, Sir-Tech, were a Canadian company.

In some of the SSX games there is the Garibaldi track which is in British Columbia, this is the first Canadian content which comes to mind...

The Vancouver area used to have bagged milk when I was a kid, we never used them though, we just bought milk in two litre cartons before there were four litre plastic jugs. I remember my neighbors two doors down used them though. The mom worked at Dairyland on Lougheed Hwy and Sperling. I still have one of the plastic jugs the bags of milk went into. I use it to water my plants.

Mario & Sonic at The Olympic Winter Games is set in Vancouver.

Yeah, I do remember that milk here but that was back in the '80s. I live in Burnaby, too. :) That olympics game is certainly something I never would have thought of back in the day: Mario, Sonic, and Vancouver in one game. I bought it for a couple bucks. The hockey mini-game seems okay.

I remember the first time I saw milk in bags it seemed strange to me, but it worked suprisingly well. The four litre jugs we use today make a mess if you just want to pour a bit and the jug is full.
