What bothers me is that these so called "awesome games" are always those shitty Japanese flying dragon rpg pewpewpew shooters.
There's hardly any hidden Street Fighter/Chrono Trigger/Daytona USA stuff on the Saturn, it's always Japanese shooter stuff.

CD-i. Glorified CD player with tons of half-assed software, a select few of which could qualify as an attempt at a game. Plus the worst controllers for any peripheral ever. Really, what can top the CD-i if you count it as a game console? You can fault old primitive technology for not being any fun nowadays, but there was no excuse for the CD-i to be so shitty by 1992. It was a turd product pushed out onto the market before it was really ready, and simultaneously surpassed by other tech almost as soon as it came out.

Yeah, Chrono Trigger isn't on Saturn, but some Street Fighter games and Daytona USA are. There are games like Virtua Fighter series, Virtua Cop series, Sega Rally, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Nights, Fighters Megamix, Guardian Heroes, Dragon Force, Shining the Holy Ark. None of those requires importing and they alone are better than for example the Jaguar library.

Pewpewpews save any console, or so I've heard. Yeah the Saturn is overrated by Sega fans. When you narrow the western library down to what's worth playing on Saturn, it seems weak, but only because we're so spoiled by the wealth of great PS1 and even N64 games. But I think there's enough there excluding Japanese pewpewpews to call it a okay console, not great. Certainly not terrible, though. What does suck, is how deep your pockets need to be nowadays to enjoy the good Saturn stuff in original form.

1. Again you don't understand what I'm saying, I'm saying that there are no secret hidden treasures on the Saturn that resemble

Jaguar was like going to a cheap crackwhore and expecting a loving relationship, anyone in the 90's thinking the Jaguar was going

I don't think you understand what the term "worst" means. It's a measure for lack of quality, not failed expectations. So you can't say the Saturn was worse than the Jaguar just because you expected the Saturn to be better than it was. A more fitting description would be "the Saturn was the biggest disappointment".

A lot of those were not released in the Western world, hence the term "disappointing," rather claiming it to be the worst console ever.

Since you quoted BT's post, which quoted my post, I assume you meant me in this statement. Again, I did NOT claim that the Saturn was a horrible machine. There simply was a lot of potential in the unit that was never used in the West. That, to me, is a disappointment, plain and simple.

So, does everyone get their game knowledge from youtube stars?

Even if you have no clue what games the PC-FX actually has, how is it not the most exempt from "disappointment", since no one got their hopes up over it?

1) The two are not mutually exclusive. Just because one feels disappointment does not exclude the console from being horrible.

2) Your perceived notions over what you think everyone knows makes it real hard to accept your viewpoints.

Well, in japan the PC-Engine was immensely popular. I imagine LOTS of Japanese gamers were very disappointed by the PC-FX, just as many American gamers were disappointed by the Saturn.
