Final Fantasy III PC release (bug/glitch)

For those of you out there, that might have picked this up on steam last week, there's a game-breaking bug in the game. Do NOT go back to the first town and use the any of the fountains, water, etc for restoration. And if you do this, and save your game, that save game will be broken and you won't be able to use certain key items in the game (it resets the game story events back to the beginning of the game, which effects your ability to use key items and other stuffs).

I was 10 hours into the game, grinding for the boss in the water crystal area, when I decided to go back to the floating continent to get a few things, at which point I had read a Kupo mail saying something about the first town. I figured it might be a mini quest, so I went back there to investigate. Didn't find anything, so I continued on. After beating boss in the underground lake, I was unable to use my folding canoe once I was in the restored world - nor could I use the job option in the menu system. Luckily I had staggered my saves, and had one right before this point.
