That is pretty good. Is it real or should it actually be in the movie we are making.
Still human and like I said Humans were all part of Sonic original design and if Ohshima-san had his way, Sonic would have a human girlfriend and be part of a human rock group; Human was always a part of the original design and were also there is various Sonic comic and cartoons, none of which people had an issue with, But hey ho with the advent of social media, we started to get the hate bandwagon, where you saw people slagging off games or films they've never played or saw.. I saw that with Sonic Unleashed with the Werehog levels getting ripped apart, but Knack 1 and II, which plays pretty much the same getting nothin,g like the grief on NeoGAF/RestERA
Other than the design that trailer doesn't look bad, but then again I didn't mind Howard the Duck lol
Really, I thought TED 1 and II were brilliant films and yet more brilliance from Seth MacFarlane. Loved Pete's Dragon (70's) and even Space Jam wasn't that bad; even though it's very much a product of its time.Quote:
I don't really see the appeal of this comedy movie genre of CG-cartoon character(s) shoved into a live-action world
For me, the trouble with Sonic is nothing to do with humans, but more the issue of a lack of focus on SONIC. Since S&K, Sonic Team seemed to think we needed Sonic game with ever more extra characters and where the levels could be made for different play styles to accommodate the different characters.
When I want a game that's just focused on Sonic and the levels build around him and his speed. I don't want extra characters and even found Tails in Sonic II just annoying. Just make a game around Sonic, which is why I enjoyed Sonic and Sonic CD quite a lot. All that said I find the IP overrated anyway. Mario IV was better than any 16 bit Sonic game and Quackshot and Revenge of Shinobi the best 16 bit platform games on the Mega Drive
He was talked out of putting a human GF in the game and later said it was for the best. As we saw with Sonic 06 it comes across as creepy and weird. Human doesn't mean Earth in fiction anyway. Star Wars there is no Earth. Game of Thrones is not Earth.
So one isn't blocked then?
Princess Elise wasn't Sonic girlfriend, we had humans in Sonic games before 06. The main issues of Sonic 06 weren't humans, but a game that was released in an unfinished state to hit the pathetic 15th-anniversary date.
And since you make the point of no earth, why the issue of Sonic then? In Sonic world, why can't humans and Sonic coexist? Its a game and one with a ridiculous premise of a having a Hedgehog that is a bipedal, blue wearing bright red trainers and can run faster than the speed of sound. One can get even pickier... does Sonic Adv take place on earth? or is it like Star Wars, a place in space that's earth like with Humans?. How many Windy Cities does one see on Earth? It's a fantasy videogame and that can give any developer a lot of scope. No outcry for the human characters in the Comic books or the Sonic cartoons, but a big outcry for a film? One can get the issues over the design, but not really for it featuring humans...
SegataS was referring to the bestiality part of it. I don't mind humans in the Sonic universe, as Eggman is clearly human. Certain kinds of things make people uncomfortable and Sonic 06 does manage to cross that line with a lot of people.
Sonic Adventure uses one of the Japanese cannons, where Sonic always existed on Earth. The Western cannons from the 90's placed him on Mobius. Neither of those are wrong and some do prefer one or the other. If Sonic only existed on one of those planets, that divide in the fanbase actually wouldn't even exist. Then there's that Sonic OVA... They should of picked something from the get-go and stuck with it in all parts of the world.
The film is garbage. It's more like that Dragonball Evolution movie a few years ago where the source material is ignored.
S16 logs me out after a few minutes so I see posts I normally would not.
None of that played a part in the end product or during an entire era of games. It was all about animals with the main villain that happened to be human evil doctor. There was no human world. Only with Sonic Adventure that changed.
Even those Sonic Mania cartoon shorts honor that world of the past.
IIRC regarding Sonic Unleashed, the issue was not that the Werehog portions in and on itself had bad gameplay, but that it had nothing to do with Sonic at all. It was a completely different game shoehorned into a surprisingly acceptable Sonic experience.
